EXCLUSIVE: Shelley Morales has joined Brian Medavoy’s Medavoy Management. ”
I’ve been working really hard to build a business that holds the confidence of the community and my clients,” Medavoy tells Deadline. ”Shelley’s addition to the team further underscores our momentum and commitment to building great talent.” Medavoy made news in April following the departure of his partner Devon Jackson and the dissolution of their Jackson-Medavoy Entertainment. Medavoy has had on-and-off personal problems and once steered the early careers of Tobey Maguire, Jason Bateman, Ryan Reynolds, Jenna Elfman, Josh Brolin, David Schwimmer, and Maria Bello, plus was an exec producer of Dharma And Greg and Just Shoot Me. Medavoy was a partner in More-Medavoy before merging into TEG with Suzan Bymel and Evelyn O’Neill, who eventually formed Management 360. After moving to Anonymous Content for a year, Medavoy left the business completely then got back into it with Jackson.
Morales began her career at Addis/Wexler before moving to Michael Ovitz’s Artists Management Group. She left management to become a talent agent at Endeavor for six years, and most recently worked in the fashion business. Medavoy says this hire is another move to expand his business. As he did in 2009 at Jackson-Medavoy Management, Medavoy says he joined forces recently with Alan Nevins’ Renaissance Literary & Talent for book publishing, speaking services, and film/TV production. Their upcoming projects include What To Expect When You’re Expecting, based on the series of books represented by Nevins, and The Viagra Diaries, which is being developed at HBO by Goldie Hawn with Darren Star.

Brian & Shelley & Alan are the perfect team. Great taste, hard working & incredibly connected managers. Wish them all the best in their new venture!
Congrats to everyone at Medavoy and Renaissance! Shelley is without a doubt one of the best!
Sounds like a lot of has-beens…maybe Innovative can rep them too?
Love Brian, he’s the best, glad he’s back.
Love these guys. So smart, watch out for them in 2012. Big things!!!
Shelley is one of the good ones. Brian is lucky to have snagged her.
What are with these positive comments? Medavoy is one of the bad ones. I’ve met him on multiple occasions and each time his arrogance and massive ego always seem to make my jaw drop. When is this guy going to learn you don’t gain respect and admiration in this town by being self-obsessed?
Brian is great if you like your clients stolen!
Correct. He has done nothing but fail. In personal and business. He’s grotesque father paid to keep him afloat. Now that’s the story folks!! Not this garbage headline. Bye-bye Deadline.
I recently met with Brian one on one and found him engaging and focused. He listened intently during our meeting and I left feeling impressed with how he’s going to grow biz for his clients!
Wow, like Pali reunion, you are here and Anna wound up in Oakland.
Sounds like a recommendation letter for a guy who is a mess and kept afloat by daddy. Brian, go away dude! Or get a real job, fool.
Hey man, it’s a full time job begging for cash from your dad at 50 years old!
