CBS Films has set Leslie Bibb, True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten and Amy Smart to star in 7500, a thriller that will be directed by The Grudge helmer Takashi Shimizu. The focus is a group of passengers who encounter what appears to be a supernatural force while on a transpacific flight. The film begins shooting later this month.

Kwanten and Smart play a married couple and Bibb is a flight attendant on Vista Pacific Flight 7500. The film will cast up quickly. Craig Rosenberg wrote the script, and Shimizu is reteaming with Grudge producer Taka Ichise, who’s producing with The Ring producer Roy Lee. John Middleton and Tracy McGrath are exec producers. Bibb’s repped by ICM, Kwanten by CAA and Orly Adelson, Smart by Gersh.

I love this cast! Especially Jason Stackhouse!!!
where’s steven schneider in this puffery?
This project has gone from maybe to kick ass.
Should be about as fun as a Tylenol PM.
happy for craig, one of the most talented and nicest guys around.
How can Roy Lee produce the film? Didn’t his career die in 2007 after that New Yorker interview?
Hollywood has become such shit these days; no originality at all. Let me guess what’s on tap for the summer of 2012:
Universal: A group of people encounter what appears to be a supernatural force while having a power lunch at Kate Mantolini.
Fox: A group of people encounter what appears to be a supernatural force while standing in line at Starbucks.
WB: A group of people encounter what appears to be a supernatural force while waiting to cross Wilshire Blvd.
Paramount: A group of people encounter what appears to be a supernatural force while using a public restroom.
PS – Don’t forget the vampires/zombies. Can’t make a movie these days without some of those!
Hey, come on now…WB is in the valley.
Nice to see Amy Smart working again. I’ve always had a soft spot for her since Felicity.
Fun premise! Can’t wait to see this one. Nothing freakier than being stuck on a plane with strangers in general, let alone with supernatural stuff going on.
seriously, and you expect people to pay MONEY to see this????? What happened to entertaining films.
Can’t wait to see this! Loved The Grudge, so I’m sure this will be equally as good!
I’m surprisingly intrigued by this film… could actually be cool.
thrown together quickly on all levels. heard what the story is and it’s pretty dumb. just trying to cash in on this super low budget crap.
maybe Smart will do a mile high club scene the same as that scene in crank 2 on the rack track. that might get me to rent this crap.
