EXCLUSIVE: Comedy Central has ordered My Mans, a comedy presentation from the Chicago writing/acting team of Tim Robinson, Mark Raterman and Andy Miara. The three co-created and are writing/executive producing the project, which stars Robinson and Raterman as two best friends — one who is constantly getting into trouble, and the other who is always bailing him out. The narrative series offers a twist on sketch comedy as it weaves in and out of stand-alone sketches. Naomi Odenkirk and Mark Provissiero executive produce the presentation, which will be directed by Miara. Bob Odenkirk will consult, and Brooke Pobjoy will co-produce. The presentation order stems from a demo pilot Robinson, Raterman, and Miara made; it was featured at the 2010 New York TV Festival. The project’s history is reminiscent of that of FX’s It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia, which also started off as a video its three creators made together. CAA-repped Robinson, Raterman, and Miara are members of Chicago’s improv troupe the Cook County Social Club. Robinson is managed by Odenkirk Provissiero; Raterman and Miara by Media Talent Group.

these guys are super, super funny! well deserved!
They are?
Any chance you could post something funny that they’ve done?
Cause this ain’t it.
Any chance you know what Google is?
Sure do know what Google is, and this shit is still unfunny no matter what search engine it’s on.
Perfect! Daniel Tosh was running out of canceled Comedy Central shows to make fun of. This should help.
I’m not seeing it. Always Sunny and Workaholics had good chemistry and writing going for the writing/acting teams. These guys might have more in long form ie awkward funny but in this trailer it just falls a bit flat imo. Hire Fred Savage to direct the pilot and then maybe it’ll be super funny. Fred Savage rocks TV comedy directing.
Alright, calm down Fred. We get it you need work.
Holy crap that was Awful. Actually made me angry
What in the blue-fuckin-hell was that?!
You’ve got to be kidding me.
This load of dung got them a deal with Comedy Central?
Wow. The bar there is really low when it comes to actual comedy.
really? that was about as good as all the other CRAP on youtube.
Comedy central does dozens of these deals. Why report this one?
Judas Fucking Priest. If my laptop wasn’t ‘only’ three years old and worth about $86, I might consider donkey punching the shit out of it after watching this.
The hell? How in the f do people spend time putting a reel like this together and think it’s going to work? And then the mofo sells on top of all that?
Don’t occupy Wall Street. Occupy Hollywood. That’s where the real larceny is happening!
All of you fucking assholes that beat off to Dane cook and wait for the next shock and awe comedy group that wakes you out if your crystal Meth puppy fucking stupor need ti understand that this is fucking genius. Its OK that youvdropped out of high school and have tribal tattoos. I know you want it to be the nineties with shows like Titus “kicking ass!” But its time we brought some fucking cerebral comedy to the party. Shit that works on a bunch of different levels. It’s alright if you don’t get it. Your sister does! Andy mark Tim, keep doing awesome things!
When he slipped on a banana peel — that worked on (according to my count) at least six levels.
The trailer doesn’t even come close to doing the pilot justice (in fact, I think the trailer’s kinda awful). If you want to actually give it a chance, here’s a link to the pilot on vimeo: http://vimeo.com/15458221
Personally I really like it and I’m excited to see what happens with this.
ha ha ha anon i can tell every thing you have put your heart into has failed! keep trying buddy but me thinks you protest to much.
Clearly because of cc dumb lucking into workaholics they think any group of guys can make a funny show
why don’t you guys give the show a chance? did you even watch it? You guys will feel like idiots in a few months when you love the show and try to act cool by saying you loved it from the start. those involved in this show are some of the most talented people in Chicago…..yes, i have seen shows…..you only wish you were so funny! You are probably just jealous.
LMAO! Now THAT’S comedy! . . . to bad the pilot wasn’t.
Okay. I watched the trailer, which was painfully bad and unfunny. But as has been mentioned, it may not be a good indication of the quality of the actual pilot, so I watched the pilot on Vimeo. Wow. It was nearly as unfunny and painful to watch as the pilot. I’m certainly not one of those people who can’t stand other people’s success, but how anyone thinks that was funny is completely beyond me.
Maybe they’re more talented than the pilot makes them appear. I hope so.
Here’s the demo pilot. The morons among you should especially watch this and then retract your moronic statements. http://vimeo.com/15458221
These are the two funniest people in Chicago, hands down. I can’t wait to see the whole pilot.
I thought the pilot was really funny, but I love absurdist comedy and I understand that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea – this is like a less affected Stella (even though it’s still plenty affected).
I’m interested enough to tune in to see how they find enough variety to pad out 13 episodes of that style.
This is going to be amazing! I can’t wait.
Why would anyone think of hating on a promo trailer for NYTF or a low budget pilot and think that that has any indication as to what these guys are making for CC? Show some class. Or just go troll a youtube video. Or better yet, write your own original show and sell it to network.
hey comment trolls talking shit, you are all really funny and I can’t wait to see your awesome tv pilots.
Hey. Don’t like it? Don’t watch it. Ah, the miracles of the remote control. Also, there have been plenty of shows with rough pilots that ended up being good shows.
