• Seriously, I’ve watched this show from the beginning, and Sutter usually offers up 2-hour episodes, extra episodes, etc. And as a viewer, watching him take the time to fully realize one of these longer episodes/seasons, it makes it a truly gratifying experience. Props for giving the fans a little more than they expect.

  • Oh, I dunno, maybe it has something to do with Clay brutally offing one of the club’s leading members during their struggle for the club’s power and then perhaps blame the murder on a rival biker gang.

    Then again, I could be wrong.

• Now if only FX can get a bigger push behind this show and get some EMMYS! How Katy, Ron, Kurt, etc. have gone without nominations is really sad. Soooo deserving!

• This show is for mouth-breathers. It didn’t used to be, but they identified their audience and so they’re catering to it. Sutter deserves all the money he can squeeze out of this turd. Doesn’t make it good, though, just popular.

• In all honesty as much as I’ve enjoyed this series (which ps was obviously taken from the original Canadian Anglo/French mini-series “The Last Chapter” and “The Last Chapter 2: The War Continues” from 2002 and 2003…if you don’t believe me watch them and then decide), I find this season to be the weakest. I have a hard time buying ANY of the story lines this year. It’s crossed over to “Low Rent Leather Soap Opera”. I find myself more often than not, yelling at the screen and hucking the remote. It’s tough because Kim Coates is a friend of ours and I want to support the show but seriously? This season for me? Just ain’t cuttin’ it.

• I counted myself as a fan, but this season is incoherent and doesn’t compare to last season. The storylines feel slapped together and there are too many new (and cartoonishly villanous) players in the mix, so it’s hard to care about where this season ends up. Their recent handling of racial issues (Juice, the tragic mulatto?!) is clumsy and nonsensical as well. I hope SOA gets back on track.

• The first three seasons were much better, the characters in Season Four act like complete f*cking morons. For example, Piney is smart enough to survive decades in an outlaw MC then on the night he threatens Clay’s life he decides to go up to a cabin in the woods – by himself no less – and make it real easy for Clay to kill him. Not consistent with the characters established through the first three seasons, maybe the extra episode is so Kurt can get his sh*t back together.

• This season may be soft, particularly regarding the Juice story line but it makes a lot more sense than last season’s ridiculous baby shuffling.
