Jason Statham plays yet another bad-ass good-guy in Safe. This time he’s protecting Mei (Catherine Chan), a 12-year-old numerical prodigy who has in her head a code the Triads, Russian Mafia and corrupt cops are determined to get. Boaz Yakin wrote and directed the Lionsgate release that opens March 2, 2012.

Didn’t Bruce Willis do something very similar a few years ago? I envy Statham for his male model looks, luck, girlfriend and huge bank balance, but, really, this one note performance of his is getting tiring.
I say “getting” because I’m still going to go see this.
This looks seriously badass!!! Love The Stath…knows what he’s good at and he sticks to it…and boy, doesn’t he do it well!
Amazing that a hardcore bad-ass R-rated action movie can get still get made.
This trailer is excellent. Hope the movie is good and makes a lot of money. More R-rated action. Please!
I liked this film better when it was called Mercury Rising.
For the love of GOD, can we please — PLEASE — STOP commenting that a film is just like another film with the belligerently overused “I liked this film better when…” line?
I liked this rant better back when it was phrased “People stop complaining about recycled movies! There’s no such thing as truly original material!”
Ha. But seriously, I liked this better when it was called MERCURY RISING.
So Mercury Rises again, I guess.
Kind of reminds me of Man On Fire, Don’t Say A Word or Mercury Rising.
I wonder: if, in the middle of a trailer for a flick staring Jason Statham, you slipped in a few clips from his previous movies, would anybody notice?
It’s a pity. I thought he was pretty good in The Bank Job (2008), and he didn’t go around being a bad-ass killing everyone in sight.
So, why is this not titled Transporter 3 or 4? Doesn’t this remind every one of all Jason Statham’s movies? He’s driving/running around town/countryside trying to save/protect some girl/woman and then breaks out with his badass Kung Fu. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.
BTW, it does look fun.
Wow this looks like one of those terrible movies Cannon would have released in the 80′s… I can’t wait;)
oh yea its called Mercury Rising with Bruce Willis
Solid… not sure how much longer Statham can keep pumping these movies out but looks solid…
Pi meets Transporter?
Pi? Why, because there’s a long number?
Never has there been a consistent action star that I’ve been more bored with.
Transporter the Sequel #14
LMAO, Transporter meets Crank, all seen a billion times before but will still likely be entertaining X).
Looks kick ass. Gotta love Statham.
Looks beyond horrible.
Obviously you could tell (re: inserting previous scenes) since he’s wearing a beanie in this one.
Did the producers want the girl to be Asian to attract even more Asian Statham followers, or did they think it made more sense because Asians are better at math?
Safe is already the name of a brilliant early Todd Haynes horror movie starring Julianne Moore. Too bad it’s now going to be forever confused with this garbage.
That trailer was a massive tower of hackneyed, derivative, overwrought, nonsensical bullshit that I will unapologetically pay to see on opening weekend.
For such a supposed tough guy, Statham sure lacks the balls to challenge himself as an actor.
Looks like a rip-off RUNNING SCARED (2006) and MERCURY RISING.
Dear Lionsgate – Just make another Crank already!
