EXCLUSIVE: Production has just gotten underway on 3 Nights In The Desert, a drama that stars Amber Tamblyn, Wes Bentley and Boardwalk Empire‘s Vincent Piazza. Gabriel Cowan is directing the Adam Chanzit script in a co-production between New Artists Alliance and Caliber Media Company. Tamblyn, Bentley and Piazza play three estranged friends and former bandmates who reunite to celebrate turning 30. They come together for a weekend in the desert and expose unresolved wounds as they struggle with who they have become and what might have been had they done things differently.
Chanzit, who moved to China to live with Daoists, based the tale on his travels. Cowan has the musical experience from his days as a member of the bands Lode and Ear Two Thousand. Cowan’s producing with his New Artists Alliance partner John Suits, and Caliber’s Jack Heller and Dallas Sonnier are the executive producers alongside Kerry Johnson, Jon Wagner and Eric Sherman. New Artists recently completed the thriller Extracted, which Cowan and his partner co-wrote, while Caliber recently wrapped the Jessica Goldberg-directed Refuge. 3 Nights In The Desert is the second collaboration between New Artists and Caliber, which wrapped Static. Tamblyn’s repped by WME and Hyler Management, Bentley by WME and Untitled and Piazza by Gersh.

The Caliber guys are quietly putting some movies together….love them over there!!
Yeah, they’re really churning out some lame, uninteresting films at a rapid pace. Good for them! Oh well, I guess anything is better than the Stone Cold direct-to-DVD crap they put out before.
Relax. They’re just getting started. Guess they didn’t like your reel.
Stay classy “Yeah…”
haha DVD Crap, you say ?? What, are you from mars ?? DVD Rentals is a multimillion dollar market ! So the remark ‘ Stone Cold ‘ is a Joke !
Cool! Sounds like a real BARN BURNER!
Caliber Media is a great company. Cheers to these guys for another great film in the works!
Very Exciting !! Best of Luck to everyone working on this Film, no doubt it will be very successful !
How did this derivative story line get greenlit? I’m all for recycling to save the environment, but when a story’s been done as a play or a movie…30 times? It’s time to throw it out and not recycle. Must be based on the cast and their connects, because the premise is BIG YAWN…
When you find a lucky number .. Let it Ride !!
Tamblyn is going to need more than three days in the desert to even begin to look like she does in that picture.
the caliber guys i don’t even think are 30 years old and they have made like 11 films, and rep a ton of great writers, they are good guys and in this day where its hard for new companies to make any progress with all the firewalls of the corporate hollywood system, its damn impressive. You may not like how they are getting there but the caliber guys are going to be making bigger and better movies every year, hell the actually know how to physically make a movie which most ppl in Hollywood don’t. I’ve always been impressed by them and they are good dudes. and excited to see them trying their hand at different types of movies!!! oh and the stone cold movies are a ton of fun..and thats the bottom line!!!
