EXCLUSIVE: Jane Curtin is joining the cast of CBS’ freshman drama series Unforgettable as a new regular. The crime procedural stars Poppy Montgomery as former Syracuse, NY police detective Carrie Wells recruited by the NYPD’s Queens homicide unit who has rare medical condition that allows her to visually remember everything. Curtin will play Jane Webster, an acerbic and demanding Inspector who was running the Medical Examiner’s office in Manhattan until being demoted to the Queens PD for mouthing off one too many times. Although she is a brilliant forensic pathologist with an encyclopedic knowledge of New York crime, she refuses to be pigeonholed as merely a crime fighter, and even teaches a course in Romantic Poetry at New School. Carrie will soon come to rely on Jane’s deductive prowess and historical expertise to help solve the murder of her own sister more than two decades ago. This is a rare foray into drama for Saturday Night Live alumna Curtin, who starred on such comedy series as Kate & Allie, which earned her 2 Emmy Awards, and 3rd Rock From the Sun. Unforgettable, which recently received a full-season pickup, is the second CBS crime drama procedural to add a veteran sitcom actor for a lighter touch, following CSI‘s hire of Ted Danson as its new leading man. Curtin is with ICM.
Meanwhile, in another new regular casting, Italian actress Valentina Cervi is joining HBO’s True Blood. She will play Salome, a powerful ancient vampire and a world class seductress. Cervi, who has signed with ICM, landed the part after an extensive international search that included hundreds of actresses from around the world vying to play the exotic character, which is expected to be featured prominently next season.

I had lost interest in Unforgettable over the weeks but somehow managed to catch last nights episode. The show really is good and I hope it can survive.
that show is horrible..won’t last
That’s the show that I keep forgetting.
Love Unforgettable. Such a great cast!
I like the program, but it has the same problem as all other drama productions. The back ground music is so loud that the voices are drowned out. If the television production people would realize that there are from 50 to 75 million senior citizens who would like to enjoy television, but are a little hard of hearing. Not all people have the hearing ability of teen agers, so why don’t you people drop all of this unnecessary back ground music. It is not realistic, so why do you do it. It has ruined every program I have watched.
I’m the Executive Produce of the show, and I apologize if the dialogue is hard to hear. We work very hard to balance the music and the dialogue correctly, but sometimes, depending upon which tv service you have (Direct TV, Cable, etc) the mix of the music and dialogue can come out differently. Since my staff and I write much of the dialogue, we’d obviously rather that it can be understood and will be sure to keep an eye on it in the future. Thanks for watching, Ed
LOVE that Jane Curtin has been added to the cast….she brings a fresh, new storyline. And I love the interaction between her and Carrie (Poppy)…thanks….
You have a hearing problem. I am in my 50′s and I really think the score adds to the drama. Railing against the vast majority because you have a handicap is okay for civil rights but it doesn’t work for art, yes art.
I watch Unforgettable every now and then and think it’s okay. I happened to catch yesterday’s episode and really enjoyed the addition of Jane Curtin to the cast. The mystery was also very well done-I knew the person Carrie shot wasn’t the sniper, but didn’t see the twist at the end coming. I think Curtin will definitely help add some interest to the show.
I love the show. Jane Curtin is great in it too, but could she cut her hair in front. You can’t see her eyes, and her hair is always in her eyes. It’s very distracting! Keep up the good work!
LOVE seeing Jane Curtin again!! Unforgettable characters have terrific chemistry and we enjoy the show…am delighted that Jane chose to join in!!
I am so enjoying seeing Jane Curtin on TV again. Please give her more time on the series, I am looking forward to watching the show every week with her as part of the action. She is great She looks fantastic and she has made my TV viewing so much more enjoyable. Send her my best and that I hope to see her in more shows. Would would love to see her in a play.
Now that Jane Curtain is part of the cast, I might tune in. Throughout her career, she’s elevated every production in which she’s been featured.
Love Jane Curtain on the show….she is perfect as the character she plays….I love that she is sort of a sounding board for Carrie…more of Jane, please…
