EXCLUSIVE: Charlie Harper’s mom has always been an important part of Two And A Half Men. Now we’ll get to meet the mother of new lead Walden Schmidt (Ashton Kutcher). Mimi Rogers has been tapped to guest star as Walden’s mom in at least two episodes of the veteran CBS comedy series. And if you wonder where computer genius Walden got his brains from — his mother is a noted primatologist, a la Dian Fossey.

Congrats Mimi!
after last nights episode,
they need to get sheen and the old cast back asap
this show is over
Love the show. Well, USED to love the show.
The writing is there and they have the talent in place with one MASSIVE exception that sticks out like a sore thumb.
I don’t think anything will save this show, I couldn’t imagine it being successful when Sheen was still on and they announced a 3-year renewal. At least Ashton will have another cougar to chase after.
it won’t help.
Every word in that sentence made me mad
I guess Demi was unavailable?
I LOVE Mimi Rogers….she was great in The Loop!
The November 7 episode of TWO AND A HALF MEN was a big “fuck you” to Charlie Sheen.
They had Alan Harper mourning his late brother, and then assuming his identity, to the point where Jon Cryer got to end the episode by saying, “WINNING!”
If they come back next week as if everything is fine (with Alan on anti-depressants, to big yuks), then it was all to show Sheen that they can do an episode about his character – without needing any footage or cameo, EVER AGAIN.
I thought the show was among the best non-cable show on the air. However, it is painful to watch this show and it’s cast slowly disintegrate. Nine episodes, I saw the first three and didn’t miss the next six. I was hoping for at least one laugh and came away disappointed at the canned laughter that permeated the shows.
Oddly, I haven’t seen much from the network about the show or it’s ratings after the first episode. The air is clearly out of the balloon and major surgery nor Kushner’s lame character are the answer. The writers’ inspiration and creativity left with Charlie. RIP Charlie, you are winning after all.
The ratings for 2.5 Men have stabilized at around 15million per week and it still ranks in top three shows for A18-49. It was #1 up until Halloween night, where viewing was lower. It bounced back this week, so there is a built in fan base that is about the same as when Charlie was in the show. FYI.
hey she’s only 6 years older than demi!
The show has become what most shows that last this long become: a caricature of it’s former self. Alan is not taken seriously at all anymore, and is just cartoonish and silly. Go back and watch the first couple of seasons. He was a knucklehead, sure, but the straight, sensible man to Charlie’s maniac self. Charlie too became a caricature of himself the past two seasons, especially last season. It’s a sad thing when this happens on shows, such as The Office, which is no longer about subtle, clever humor but sitcom wackiness, and Seinfeld, which became somewhat silly after Larry David departed. Even look at a show like Curb, which is brilliant and still great — it’s so much sillier and more cartoony than it used to be. Just the nature of the beast; as audiences become comfortable with the show, the writers and producers tend to take liberties and begin pushing their characters and storylines to their reality max.
That all being said… Ashton’s character is flat and boring and against everything people who tuned into “Men” want. He is anti-Charlie, which would be fine, except Lorre seems to have forgotten Charlie is what made “Men” so popular. Ashton could have been a character in the same vain as Charlie and this would have worked nicely. Instead they went this bizarre route that will not work in the long term.
I think the choice to have the Sheen character killed off is what is going to kill the show. They should have said he was just globetrotting, or something…The show is mindless, fluff entertainment, but since they’ve introduced the death of Sheen’s character, its taken a bit of a morbid, dark, and slightly sentimental turn. They can’t twist laughs from death, which is what they’re trying to do.
she looks like demi. smooth movie, cbs!
The producers need to look at the big picture, yes they are rich but is it better to be rich and liked or rich and scorned because they are destroying one of the greatest shows of our time,
This show grows more and more painful each week!! I’m done. As much as I like Ashton and as wonder as the rest of the cast is and has been… There is nothing they can do with poorly written scripts and bad (really bad) sex jokes. I’ve decided to relief my pain and never watch again. Bye Bye Ashton. If you shave and cut your hair… call me.
Face it, Chuck Lorre is a god who loves to create and destroy,
but the public decides how long god rules,
not to worry, ashton’s character will soon be killed off and replaced with the next house mate as part of a series of revolving publicity stunts involving kill-off’s, casting drama’s, etc. it’s the new formula to keep those cpm’s flowing.
This casting for Waldens mother is great cant wait to see the episodes.
Adam Carolla has a great theory about why certain shows go to shit.
The creators tend to bail out once a show hits 100 episodes and is ready for syndication.
Carolla talks about how suddenly on HAPPY DAYS, the haircuts all went got anachronistic instead of era-appropriate. And how Anson Williams suddenly started singing, because that’s what he wanted to do on the show.
I can exclude EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND and SEINFELD, but this theory holds true for many successful long-running shows. And MEN is no exception.
Kick chuck to the curb and get sheen back, I bet next week ratings will be down to 5MM viewers
LOSING#
how is being the highest rated show on monday night with 14.6 million losing ?
“Kick chuck to the curb and get sheen back, I bet next week ratings will be down to 5MM viewers”
hey I took that back !!!!!!
they have 14.7 million viewers last monday, I think the show and chuck is here to stay !!!!!!!
Put a fork in this motherf***er!!!…. Cos this shoe is done!!!
I totally agree with you Pin Ball Jones. Charlie was a man whore…. The guys loved that. Ashton’s character is a wet, soft pussy…. Why are the producers are going this route??
But, would they seriously consider axing the show?
Not with 10-15m viewers still watching. I think it’s time to move on. The show is not funny anymore, just cringe worthy
Very disappointed in the show. It is unbearable to watch. The only saving grace is that we call still watch the old eposodes each night. Now that was funny.
