NBC has added 2 more episodes to the Back 9 order of freshman comedy Up All Night, bringing the series’ total first-season order to 24 episodes. This is the latest vote of confidence by NBC for the show starring Christina Applegate, following the early full-season pickup and the recent time slot upgrade. Beginning Jan. 12, Up All Night is moving from its current Wednesday 8 PM slot to the cushy post-The Office 9:30 PM berth on Thursday. With Up All Night prominently factoring into NBC’s scheduling plans for the rest of the season, the network has opted to up its order, something normally reserved for top performers, like NBC’s flagship comedy series The Office, whose last 3 seasons spanned between 24-26 episodes.

Not a good show
yep. as funny as some of the actors are, the writing is pretty terrible. just do 48 episodes of 30 rock nbc!
where’s my Grimm season full order?
I think they’re trying to solidify the comedies first.
You got it.

First time in history a 1.8 show gets a back 11. This show is airless. A criminal waste of talent.
How about no more episodes.
No chemistry.
Actually, this is a well written show. So two episodes last week for the first time. Favorite new comedy. A must see.
Personally I think the series has some flaws, but there has been massive improvement over the course of the first half dozen episodes. It should be interesting to see how this series is doing in 4 month airing after “The Office”.
You people are all crazy. It is super funny and smart.
I was considering watching this show but judging by the comments i wont lol
@communityfan
Kind of ironic that you claim that Up All Night would be the first 1.8 show in TV history to get a back 11 order …. When Community put up a 1.9 within a week of extended a full 2nd season.
Babe. Worry. I can’t totally do this.
Yeah, “A Person”, I agree with you. Love this show. It’s good to see Applegate on television again.
I think you have to have kids. My wife and I have an 11 month old daughter right now and we find the show hilarious. It feels like the writers have been observing our life in the past couple of months. I stay home with mine and last weeks episode where Will Arnett says, “I just need to not be with her right now.” rang funnily familiar.
If you are spending weekends at The Saddle Ranch, and trying to band the new girl in your scene study class, I’d doubt you will find it funny.
Bang.
Stupid left index finger.
Am I the only one who thinks COMMUNITY would have much better number if it had not been put in the 8:00 time slot!?!?! I bet it would double if put at 9:30 after 30 Rock – a much better companion piece.
I’m willing to bet big numbers of community fans wouldn’t care if you put it on at 3 am since they watch it on their own schedule on DVR’s or online anyway.
Good, I’m glad. It’s not perfect by any means, but as far as new comedies go, this one’s a keeper. Arnett and Applegate are great together; Rudolph on the other hand, well, her character and the whole workplace dynamic need a bit of tweaking. Other than that, it’s funny, it’s sweet at times, and completely enjoyable. I’d much rather watch this than Whitney.
Fast, funny and very relatable to a majority of young parents in this country. The Molly Shannon episode highlighted the show’s potential to be a big league comedy hit!
NBC should have moved Community to 9:30 and put UAN at 8. Im still fuming about Community’s shortened season. WTF NBC?
Two more eps doesn’t sound like much of a network endorsement. More like they are trying to plug a hole in the schedule.
WHY ? Look for something that is funny
save up all night. it’s funnier than community. i dont know what happened to community, but it is NOT funny at all.

Christina and Will are hilarious together and they hit some pretty authentic issues on the show. Don’t love Maya’s character – I hope they ground her more in the upcoming episodes, cuz it’s just too much as is.
