NBC’s The Voice earned bragging rights tonight as all 4 of its musician coaches received Grammy nominations: 4 for Cee Lo Green, 2 each for Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera and one for Adam Levine’s band Maroon 5 (it is for the group’s collaboration with Aguilera Moves Like Jagger). In contrast, none of the judges of the other signing competition series, including The Voice‘s main rivals American Idol and The X Factor, landed a single nomination. The recent crop of American Idol contestants also failed to earn recognition though the series’ 2 best-selling alums, Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson earned a nom each, as did another star of a reality competition, Susan Boyle of Simon Cowell’s Britain’s Got Talent.

Well, they’re all really talented. I’m particularly happy for Christina; after all sh*t she’s received from the media in the last year or so, and after her last album was completely snubbed (simply because it was a commercial failure I suppose), they are at least recognizing the great work she did with ther “Burlesque” soundtrack.
I think Blake actually has three nominations; for best country album, best country song, and best country solo performance.
It is 2 nominations because he didn’t write the country song nominated.
If Blake has 2 noms then why is Blake himself saying he has three? I mean yes, Dave Barnes wrote ‘God Gave Me You’ but Blake made it into a COUNTRY song which is what it is nominated for. Blake got the song nominated, not Dave, and would be unfair if Dave took home the trophie.
I love that all 4 judges got nominated for the grammys. It shows all the judges rock and Mark Burnette did a good job getting all 4 judges to be on the hit show. Wish them all luck esp my girl Christina Aguilera! Season 2 of The Voice can’t wait to watch it’s gonna be good!
Stoked for all the judges from The Voice getting grammy nominations. Can I just say I love the dynamics that all the judges have together with each other on The Voice. It’s a cool vibe and that show is wicked with them. Wonder if they will all go together to the Grammy’s? Christina Aguilera I loved you in Burlesque so happy you got a nod for that one.May all the judges win grammy’s come Feb 2012.
I just saw basically the exact same article on The Hollywood Reporter that was published after yours. What a coincidence…

they deserve it
So The Voice has bragging rights because Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell didn’t get nominated for any Grammys? What an absurd comparison to make.
He probably meant Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler and Nicole scherzinger
Simon gets an interview with Barbara Walters, as one of her ten “most fascinating” people. Oh well.
Christina Aguilera GOT 2 NOMINATIONS! Another one is for Burlesque and Cee Lo Green was also nominated for best pop album or something like that, EDIT your note and correct… BIAS!
Mandisa, who came in 9th on season five, got a nomination in the Gospel category.
Cee Lo got 3 nominations, for performing and writing “Fool For You,” and for the “Lady Killers” album; Blake got 2 (“Honey Bee” and “Red River Blue” album) and Dave Barnes got 1 for writing “God Gave Me You” from the same album; Adam and Christina shared 1 for “Moves Like Jagger”; she got a second nom for the “Burlesque” soundtrack, and Diane Warren also got one for writing “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me” (Cher’s song) from that same soundtrack.
Smash will be a huge hit. The ads for it are getting positive reaction on Twitter and other sites.
I can keep dreaming of a world without these awful singing-contest reality-television shows.
