• The group responsible for the programming on this network should be ashamed of themselves. They managed to assemble the worst roster of shows on any network with the most cash. Oprah’s “brand” is powerful and the people running it have no clue how to best maximize it. My guess is they all start dropping like flies, Oxygen anyone?

  JUST BECAUSE YOU CALL IT A DOCU-SERIES DOESNT CHANGE THE FACT THAT ITS A BORING REALITY SHOW. Who’s programming this network? Its getting to the point that the shows are rejects from Oxygen’s reality slate. UGH

  • Better question might be: how does the average woman relate to the life or a former supermodel living in Palm Springs?

    If I didn’t know any better, I’d swear that all of the executives at OWN were gay men. There *IS* an entire country that exists in places other than New York City and Southern California, and a culture and society that does more than model and decorate homes.

  • I think Oprah has to take the shinier, pop-culture elements of her former show and break it down into bite-sized pieces if OWN is to succeed. What makes middle-aged women who don’t leave the suburbs or their small towns feel good about themselves?

    *Ambush makeovers
    *Overweight women with messy lives learning life lessons (e.g., Ruby) and getting in shape.
    *Older (non-famous)women making dramatic transitions to new careers/passions
    *Traveling with friends

• Why are people trashing OWN. They are a new network, regardless of who its face is, and new networks take time to build.

  I have a mother, I have a daughter, its not an easy relationship.

  Rich, poor, famous or not these relationships are pretty similar and complex, I like that Beverly Johnon is opening up about this. One thing we know – with a diva like her the show will be anything but boring. Im sure its not going to be like The Judds!

• I LOVE the OWN network,I love the varity of shows, this network gives shows a chance that others won’t. Gork OWN…now Beverly’s daughter seems soooo spoiled and unforgiving, grow up Anansa, you have a child of your own , your mom is who she is today because of all the hard work she has done, and I’m sure you have enjoyed the benefits of being Beverly’s daughter…Cut your mom some slack.

• OMG! Beverly Johnson’d shows deserves a trip to the garbage can. It’s obvious that she has no relationship with her daughter who came off in the first episode to be be perturbed by the cameras. If Beverly expsects this show to heal the rift that she and her daughter have then LOL! Also,Anassa’s husband doesn’t even know why they are in California anyway and staying with Beverly…wait to have a full house. I Beverly’s show and that stupid Niecy Nash show are cancelled. Niecy Nash also is trying to force a relationship with her new man on her kids. I predict Niecy will be divorced soon because her kids really do not like him or the show.

• I will not comment on Beverlys Full House. Too painful to watch.
  I just pray that Beverly can survive her house guests without having a stroke or nervous breakdown. She is taking a beatdown.
  Now, I love Neicy Nash…but I feel sorry for her and her new husband. They have no real privacy. They haven’t had a chance to enjoy each other in the intimate space that newly married people need to get to know each other. Her kids (the girls) are mouthy and are all over the place. Neicy’s husband is like in the background, but being the gentleman he is, always smiling and trying to please everybody. That will get old pretty soon. I don’t expect the marriage to last for too long. I wonder what he was thinking to move into a house with a ready made family including a mother in law. The mother in law appears to be embarrassed by the things that go on.

• I actually love Beverly’s full house! Her show is modest and respectful. She’s classy and her daughter has a MBA! I love OWN! I keep my tv on this station.

• I agree her daughter should have deep respect for her mother. Beverly had a strong sense of self control and life skills. She’s still beautiful!
