So, the animation branch decided to allow “Tintin” in the animation category. From what I have seen, the amount of work necessary to turn the motion capture into the high-quality animation that is in Tintin does require a lot of frame-by-frame work. This was the requirement under the rules that would have been the biggest sticking point.
With 18 films they will have five nominees; which will make for an interesting choice.
Tintin has only been submitted for consideration in this category, it hasn’t been approved yet.

Yes, I see that I completely misread the article — in fact saw that as soon as I hit the “post” button. Thank you for correcting me.

wow, a bad year in animation
It really is a bad year for animation, looking at this list.
But then again, it’s a bad year for movies, in general.
Wow! a shocker of a year. Kung Fu Panda 2 cause’ Gary Oldman is Psychotic Peacock.
There are plenty of reasons Panda 2 was the best of this bunch. Oldman was but one of them.
And the winner is….
”MARS NEEDS MOMS”
WHAAAAAAT???????
Gnomeo & Juliet, all the way!!!!
Scorsese’s HUGO should make the final cut
I vote for ALOIS NEBEL!
Good luck Alois Nebel
Alois Nebel !!!
Alois Nebel!>
It’s not a great year for animation, nothing stands out from those films. But I’m guessing the five nominees are:
Arthur Christmas
Gnomeo and Juliet
Puss in Boots
Rango
Alois Nebel
(I hope the awful cars 2 don’t even get mentioned)
Chico & Rita !
Alois Nebel my personal favourite!
KUNFU-PANDA-2
and the nominees for sure is PUSS n BOOTS – #1 movie in America two weeks in a row, smallest second drop in recorded history. Suckl that Pixar.
