EXCLUSIVE: Feature director Paul Greengrass has joined Fox’s untitled CIA drama project from writer Joe Weisberg (Falling Skies), Imagine TV and 20th Century Fox TV. This marks the first foray into U.S. television for British director-writer Greengrass, who will serve as an executive producer on the CIA drama alongside Brian Grazer and Weisberg. I hear Grazer was instrumental in bringing the Bourne Supremacy and Bourne Ultimatum helmer on board. Greengrass’ deal is limited to producing, but I hear that he may also direct the potential pilot subject to availability. Penned by CIA officer-turned-writer Weisberg, the project, which was sold without Greengrass last month, is described as a high-stakes character-based drama centering on the young assistants of high-ranking officers in the U.S. Intelligence community. The show takes place within the walls of the CIA, as well as the DIA, NSA, FBI and the intelligence components at the White House. Greengrass was nominated for an Oscar for his 9/11-themed 2006 movie Flight 93.

Just what we need -more propaganda and phoney, perverted patriotism.
From the man who brought you FLIGHT 93… what else can we hope for, from a totally dominated pro war, pro corporate crime media that does the bidding of the banksters and their CIA-Mossad-MI6 terrorists.
Endless war, political assassinations, pre-emptive strikes, convenient fatal accidents, political smears and degrading searches at the airport.
The US constitution destroyed by the very people sworn to uphold and protect it. Maybe the reason the public are always said to not be able to handle the truth -is that they never get to hear it or SEE it!
Don’t forget your tinfoil hat when you go outside.
…it’s not that I don’t agree, it’s that all those things you described make really good TV drama!
If its as good as homeland I can’t wait to see it.
This means a) Greengrass while help develop some tight little teleplays or b) Greengrass involvment consisits of him whispering to the Camera Operator and Second Unit Directors of each episode, “Go handheld on this one”.
He either directs or who gives a shit. one thing a series doesn’t need is another non writing producer.
Someone should contact Bazzel Baz, former CIA spy (and for full disclosure, a friend), and get him aboard. He could contribute quite a bit to this series.
Hey, do you guys in California get special deals to buy clothes and glasses and style your hair like Greengrass in the accompanying picture? It looks like a caricature of a Hollywood director.
“Flight 93″ was a TV movie. Greengrass directed UNITED 93.
Gotta love the bitter conspiracy theorist. Down with the government, right guy? Give me a break and find something else tonattack besides your own government. Maybe move somewhere else where you can appreciate what you have and then bitch about the country that allows you to have it.
