NBC brass’ blessing was key in Piers Morgan landing his talk show host gig on CNN because he was under contract at the broadcast network as a judge on America’s Got Talent. Now Morgan is leaving NBC, which allowed him to fulfill his dream of succeeding Larry King, and the reality series that established him in the US to focus on his struggling primetime show on CNN. Morgan made the announcement on the CNN program, Piers Morgan Tonight. “I’m leaving America’s Got Talent,” he said. (video below) “I’ve been there since the show began 6 years ago and have loved every second of it but discovered that juggling is a bit more difficult than I thought.” NBC recently renewed the veteran talent competition for next summer.

Piers was the only legitimate judge on that show…but combine that with Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel and you have the worst chemistry of judges I think I’ve ever seen on a show like this. I couldn’t stand them.

I had the same sad wish when I read the headline. His ratings are more pitiful than his obsequious soft-ball interviews– it is amazing how much this self-congradulatory tea-bag can make so little use of his time on the air. He makes Arseneo Hall look like Mike Wallace. Too bad that phone-hacking fiasco didn’t show him the quick exit at CNN… But with such horrid ratings It has to end soon for this grinning twit, right?
I’m actually sorry to see Piers go. His talk show is so bad that he’ll probably leave there soon,find himself some whacked out clairvoyant and film an Infomercial selling an overpriced POS blender.

I really miss Pierce on Agt he was one of the only honest to goodness honest but harsh judges I wjsh him well with his new show.
FINALLY! I thought I would never see the end of him. He’s a complete bore and a douchebag – however, it’s more that he’s just plain boring than the fact that he’s obnoxious, rude and narrow-minded.
Simon Cowell is loved by all even though he’s blunt and can be a jerk, but what makes them different is that Cowell is likeable and can appreciate talent, while Piers (whatever the hell that name is) is just an old, crinkly, used up bag of disgusting british tea.
