With Thanksgiving trips and meals on viewers’ minds, watching TV is taking a back seat as most programs last night were down week-to-week. Additionally, ABC’s lineup is headed to a downward adjustment in the finals as its fast nationals were inflated by local NFL pre-emptions. Even with that, Part 1 of the season finale of Dancing With The Stars (3.6/9) was down 27% from the corresponding telecast last fall. The debut of new game show You Deserve It (2.1/5) was down 13% from the premiere of Skating With The Stars, which followed Part 1 of the Dancing finale last November. ABC’s Castle once again swam against current, dropping when everyone else grows and rising when others fall. Last night, the mystery dramedy (2.7/7) posted a 13% increase vs. its last original 2 weeks ago. It will likely relinquish some of the gains in the finals due to NFL-fueld inflation. ABC (2.8/7, 14 million) currently runs second on the night in 18-49 and first in total viewers.
All CBS series were down from last week when 3 comedies, 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly and Hawaii Five-0 posted their best demo numbers since their premieres. How I Met Your Mother (4.3/12, 10.1 million) was down 7% in 18-49, 2 Broke Girls (4.4/11, 11.2 million) down 8%, Two & A Half Men (5.2/13, 15.7 million) down 4%, Mike & Molly (4.2/10, 13.1 million) down 5% and Hawaii Five-0 (2.8/7, 10.3 million) down 15%. CBS (4.0/10, 11.8 million) still won the night in 18-49, with Men ranking as the top program in 18-49.
Fox’s Terra Nova (2.1/6) was down 9%, while House (2.5/6, 7.3 million) was flat in 18-49 and up 11% in total viewers. NBC’s The Sing-Off (1.4/3) also bucked the down trend with its penultimate episode, up 8%, while Rock Center With Brian Williams (0.9/2) dropped 18% to a series low. The CW’s Gossip Girl (0.7/2, 1.48 million) was up a tenth in the demo and hit a season high in total viewers, while Hart Of Dixie (0.7/2, 1.8 million) was flat in 18-49 and up 11% in total viewers.

When I saw the commercials fro Rock Center I thought it was an SNL parody ad.
LOL – so true! Also, the extreme close-up of Brian Williams at the end was not only weird but unflattering, adding to the whole parody feel.
Two and a half men is starting to get better each week.
The appeal of Two and Half Men is a complete mystery to me. Watched last night and barely cracked a smile – totally unfunny. Truth is, Ashton is a very mediocre actor.
Last night my Two and Half Men boycott forced me to sit through a documentary of a director whose work I’ve never cared for. Warts and all I am now a Woody Allen fan. Thank you Chuck Lorre for making me grow. Geez, if you’d kept Charlie you never would have arced his character, and my viewing habits would still be in the shitter.
Sooner or later Ashton’s Twitter crowd is going to, no offense Ashton, tweak themselves on over to better viewing. Come on Chuck. Imagine all the bad karma you can wipe away by waking up Charlie from a bad nightmare, hell bent on changing his debasing women lifestyle.
Thought Hawaii Five-0 could have been a two-parter… story was so dense it felt a little rushed. Terry O’Quinn is just the gift that keeps on giving, however. Props for the final series of shots with the old heli heading into the sun… it just plain worked.
Nice to have a show that can still surprise.
You Deserve It is definitely one of the better game shows. I hope it makes it. Needs better clues thought, it’s impossible to play along until about the fourth clue. Everything else was cool.
Ouch for Hawaii 50, thats a big big drop from last week. From the Mike&Molly 4.2 demo, it dropped to a 2.8 demo. This remake would had been fantastic rather than just mediocre if they had chosen their cast better. Terry O’Quinn has added the good acting the show needed, but as soon as he leaves , the show will again be a predictable boring cop show in Hawaii.
CBS should consider to make Terry and the blonde girl, regulars in the show.
Glad to see Rock Center imploding. Nobody buys Rockefeller media as serious anymore apparently.
James, what color is the sky in your world?
Wonder how long it will take for Rock Center to hit Rock Bottom?
Ouch! Castle and YDI both dropped .4 in finals; DWTS .1
It’s sad how people want to be entertained when their favorite shows are tanking and don’t want to be more informed. Rock Center could’ve helped inform us more. But the people who watch it will be pissed when the people who spend their time slamming NBC on comment pages want to die when they dont watch it as a whole.
This doesn’t make sense, people!
Rock Center = Rock Bottom very soon
