I am so upset that you killed Drago off so soon and his baby.
The story line worked to soften and create a relationship in just a few episodes and then destroyed a whole story line. My favorite characters were Dani,Drago,Jorah the Andal,Lord Snow, Tyrion and lastly Ned Stark. Many of the charactors and actors left I don’t like. I don’t know if I will be as interested in all the new storylines because there are several storys left hanging. Who is Lord Snows mother? Who is leading the Dothraki and where did they go. I would like to have seen the Khaleesi take over the seven kingdoms.

because it’s still the first book.
No – the first book was the 1st season. This is the second book and really should be titled as such but it would probably just confuse the masses because really it should be called “A Song of Ice and Fire”.
because there have been millions spent in building a brand out of Game of Thrones, it’s pointless to go back to the beginning and brand Clash of Kings as being Season 2 of the same show.

Anyone know what the deal is with HBO releasing these on DVD or itunes? We still havent gotten Boardwalk Empire season 1 on DVD (and obviously nothing that came out afterwards).

I don’t get the fuss. Benioff is a mediocre writer with mediocre credits and it shows in his work on this show: sloppy exposition, bad pacing and poor episode structure. I’ve never read the books, so for all I know he’s being 100% accurate, but at the risk of sounding heinously obvious, the biggest part of adapting something to screen is making it work for the screen. A few fleeting moments aside, I don’t think this show’s done that so far.
Who knows, maybe the second series will be a step up.
You are dead wrong on almost all accounts. This is not a carbon copy adaptation. The structure and pacing have been fantastic so far. This is not Grey’s Anatomy or some other trite drama… this is an epic undertaking with tons of characters. That means you actually have to pay attention to the show. I know, I know, God forbid someone has to pay attention when watching TV, but it’s worth the effort after a couple episodes.
However, I kind of agree with your Benioff comment. Kite Runner was amazing and Troy was ok. Brothers was awful and so was Wolverine, so he is hit or miss at best. Having said that, you can’t judge Game of Thrones on his prior work.

Love it! It’s exciting to see all the new characters (Stannis, Mel, Davos, Brienne, Aeron???, etc.) and to see everyone from season 1. I’m impressed they fit just about everyone into that short video. I think part of the fun of season 2/Storm of Swords IS meeting all the new characters. Can’t wait. Here’s hoping for another trailer or few before the year is out.
