EXCLUSIVE: The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons has signed with UTA. The Emmy and Golden Globe winner had been without an agent since early September when he left Innovative, where he had been for 10 years. He recently took agency meetings, landing at UTA. Parsons, who continues to be represented by manager Marsha McManus at Principal Entertainment and attorneys Ken Richman and Jason Hendler, won his second consecutive Emmy last month for his role as Sheldon on CBS’ hit comedy Big Bang Theory. He recently made his Broadway debut in the Tony-winning revival of The Normal Heart and has a cameo in Disney’s upcoming The Muppet Movie.

Huge sign. CAA must be bummed out. I hear Richard Lovett was a dog with a bone. Sorry Richie – you lose
Mike Jelline?
Am I the only one who finds Jim’s performance in his smash hit comedy show appalling? Am I the only one who finds the show unwatchable altogether?
You are NOT alone! It’s clearly a curious phenomenon that this dude has had success with this character. Whats more curious is how 3, count em 3, nerds in one show make for a successful comedy. go figure.
I’ve tried watching twice and I think they’re putting drugs in the Neilson families water supply…
I cannot WAIT til they completely measure viewership by the cumulative totals of ALL viewers (in real time and in DVR). The day is coming…Digital cumulative totals of ALL VIEWERS and NOT conjecture about America’s viewing habits based on the folks who SIGN UP to be measured.
Something tells me these bozo Neilson families tastes are NOT reflective of the general viewership.
I pray…PRAY…that overall we’re more intelligent than these 5,000 morons…
I think we’ll learn that over the last 20 years, both the public and the advertising world have been duped into thinking everyone loved the drek that was on TV…and that shows that were cancelled might have been very successful with more viewers than they realized…
Yes.
Probably.
No my friend, you are NOT alone.
Love the show.
He will hate UTA like every other client I know there.
Hi Charlie Kaufman!
It’s all about the new logo.
UTA is winning every “sign off” lately, they must give great meeting!
talented and likable, but no way should have won back-to-back emmys.
Innovative gotted screwed!
i believe they are referred to an Inundated
Why does this guy win Emmys?
I remember when John Lithgow won another Emmy for “3rd Rock” and he asked the audience, “Have you SEEN the show?!” As in…it’s HORRIBLE…are you SERIOUS?
But he’s John Lithgow. A respected, career actor.
Jim Parsons, not so much. And BBT is a HORRIBLE show.
So what gives, industry?
TBBT is well written, well acted, has great ensemble chemistry and if it’s not your thing then fine but your “knocks” are hollow.
Why do actors always leave the agency that gets them to where they can choose from any agency? Seems like bad karma to me.
INNOVATIVE is a really terrific Agency. They have a great eye for talent and work together. It’s a shame he left. I think that the clients of Innovative should not buy into it when the majors try to get them to leave.. I left Innovative and have not worked since I left. I used to have a career. I wanted to go back and they denied me. I regret my bad judgement. I know this is not a big deal but I thought I would mention it. I signed with ICM and have had nothing offered to me since. I learned a valuable lesson.
Words of wisdom sir…stick with the agency that fights for you when you’re not yet ‘a name.’
The agency that takes you when you’re ALREADY a success is like that 3rd Gold-digging wife. She’ll take you for whatever she can, and she wouldnt touch you when you were working your way up the ladder of success..
Stay with those who believe in you..
Oh stop.
You would think he would go with caa but his the star at uta-understandable.
He should have gotten more money at contract time.
I feel bad for this guy’s feature talent agent. That guy is going to have to convince Hollywood that this guy is a movie star and more than just consistently sarcastic. Good luck buddy!
That’s the best you could come up with?
What a bust this will be, I mean seriously, what is this guy going to do after this piece of crap goes off the air? He’s just playing himself & he’s not that funny.
If you think that Jim Parsons is playing himself in the Big Bang Theory, you’re a bigger moron than Tom Cruise jumping on Oprah’s couch. The man is as far from Sheldon Cooper as logic is to you. That’s what earned him his Golden Globe and back-to-back Emmys. No knowledge, no opinion.
Love it! I love Jim Parson because through his character he made me understand better those who suffers from Asperger’s syndrome.
Great actor!
If you were never a nerd, you wouldn’t get it. I was, and I find the show hilarious. I guess most of America is made up of current and/or former nerds, and that’s why it’s popular.
I live in Australia, and “The Big Bang Theory” is a hit overhere!!!
