Do not diss these fans. Given the sickly state of the North American box office, an event pic like this may be just what the doctor ordered for Hollywood’s lifeless box office. If you’re experiencing deja vu, that’s because this happens every time
Summit Entertainment releases one of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight Saga novels as a film. Here are photos of 300+ 700+ Twi-hards waiting to be assigned their ”camping spot” at LA Live in front of the Nokia Theater in Downtown Los Angeles. All to glimpse the stars of Breaking Dawn Part 1 walk the Red Carpet at Monday’s premiere. The studio has planned various events to relieve the inevitable boredom of the campers this weekend. Meanwhile the big online ticket-sellers already are doing a brisk business for the film. MovieTickets.com currently has sold out 1,344 performances for the November 18th debut. And the pic already represents 72% of Fandango’s weekly ticket sales. More than 1,000 showtimes are already sold out in advance on Fandango which says theater owners are scrambling to add more screenings to meet the fan demand. According to a Fandango survey, 48% of Breaking Dawn Part 1 ticket-buyers plan to see the pic on opening night.

Perhaps the reason Summit wasn’t too worked up about 3 Musketeers!
I look forward to seeing this movie!!!
Yes! Yes! Yes! OMG it’s almost here! Breaking Dawn – Part 1 is going to be huge! I can’t wait!!! I’ll be going on opening night with all my girls! Let’s go girls! Woooo!
LOL
Amazing!
I can wait.
Hyperventilation already taking place.
Make no mistake, I dislike (to be mild) Twilight, but it is a fandom matched only by Star Wars as best I can figure and that’s impressive. Part of me is disappointed that people like me probably won’t go to this extent for The Avengers next summer, but the enjoyment levels should be the same…even if the shown passion isn’t.
*resists comments about having job/life that prevents me from doing this for The Avengers*
Hope the fans enjoy the movie and it lives up to the hype beyond the simple expectation of seeing Lautner without a shirt.
#highroad
Think you’re forgetting about the Harry Potter fandom?
I was just going to say the same thing, what are we chopped liver?
’cause we’re bigger? <3
I hope you mean the HP fans cause yes THEY ARE BIGGER AND BETTER.
AMEN. In my city Deathly Hallows part 2 was sold out a MONTH before. Good to know they have their facts right.
I need the ticket now i will kick your ass people you never get my movie biatch you know I need the movie
you forget HARRRY POTTER , shame muggle ,shame
Mortal girl marries vampire dude. Rogue vampires don’t like it, want her dead. Werewolves don’t like it either, plan to kill vampires. Spurned werewolf boy tells vampires because he pines for mortal girl. Lots of blurry fight action, slow motion special effects. Mortal girl, vampire dude and werewolf boy all end up sad and reflective (except the vampire).
See, I just saved you $12 and a lot of time. You are welcome.
You forgot the demon baby.
you see, you would have saved us $12.00 … if that were the plot of the movie. Unfortunately it’s not.
It kinda is…more or less.
Just add the vampire baby in there and thats pretty much it.
Well you have to admit it doesn’t deserve 2 movies. I’ve read the book.
You do not need 4 hrs to tell this story
Thank you! There are just trying to get back at Harry Potter because they did a great job at making the movie into two parts. There do not need two parts.. They are just copy-cats!
As much of a Potterhead as I am, and trust me it means A LOT to me, I don’t think they did a great job with the movies. It’s all to get more money out of things that are pretty good the way they are (Harry Potter, not Twilight. Twilight is just for the money because it will always suck)
The only thing they missed was all the patrolling and the demon baby. There wasn’t even action in the action scene.
Pretty much is, actually. The whole book, which I have read, is like, six hundred pages of setting you up for some awesome, epic battle that never comes. Two hours is more than long enough to cover the wedding, the baby, and Bella turning into a vampire.
And it will have a huge opening, drop like a stone, and make approx $300 million give or take domestically. It will also drop a bit internationally from the last one. In other words, the same as the others. There is no story here, no room to grow the franchise, no one outside the diehard fans who watch these 20 times care. A few others will go for the laugh.
Sigh, let’s just get this over with and hope that the next young adult series is done with a little more quality and talent.
looking forward to see how well the Hunger Games trilogy fairs, on the subject of next young adult series.
These are the same idiots who won’t wait in line a half hour to vote! On second thought that is a good thing!
Occupy Edward?
So so sad! We’ve managed to manufacturer such a bad culture for our children.
This is going to be exactly like the last three flicks, huge opening weekend, dismal hold.
I am one of hundreds of people in line!
It is crazy down here. It is slow and VERY disorganized!
Summit does not know what they are doing!
They are just randomly picking groups of people to form a line!
It does not matter how long you have been waiting!
Totally unfair!
Go home. There will be plenty of tickets opening day.
Not ever comment!
Needs to end!
With an exclamation point.
At some point, the Twi-Hard crowd is going to be bigger than the OWS protest crowd also camped out in downtown LA.
The OCCUPY TWILIGHT movement will be out in force this week.
How come no one’s telling them to get a job?
Celebrity infatuation is natural, we all have our favorites. But camping out for FIVE DAYS? That’s using your days on Earth wisely.
I don’t know if you knew this already, but in Latin America (and specially in Brazil), fans are way more crazy than this. You see, Tom Felton came to Brazil to promote HP7 and to see the Premiere, and there were people camping outside the theater for 15 DAYS. FIFTEEN. Only to see Tom, and he isn’t the lead actor in the franchise.
Same thing happened when they came to shoot Breaking Dawn in Rio de Janeiro. People camped outside the hotel that RPatzz and Kstew were staying in for more than 15 days. Gosh.
And when a huge artist from abroad (specially, d’oh, USA) comes touring here, people wait in line for MORE THAN A MONTH. And this happens though all Latin America countries.
So five days is nothing, LOL.
they let us camp out only acouple days b4, only 4 5 days, nt ay longer or else they kick u out.
That is bullshit. I live in Latin America and I have NEVER heard of people camping for more than a weekend and that’s for really big things. Although, really, I think camping is for people who don’t have lives.
That’s because movie stars almost NEVER come to Brazil! Tom Felton was the only star from the HP series that came here. In that sense, Latin America is despriviledged. But twi-hards are there already just cause they have nothing better to do.
Ummm…I camped out for 3 days to get Beatle tickets, and glad I did. The memory is a great one.
Good for you, that’s truly an awesome accomplishment.
A legendary band playing one of a handful of live performances and a film that will spool and spool and spool in identical showings for moths and then exist in perpetuity on TV are not comparable.
totally jealous. i was born in the wrong decade. you cherish that memory for as long as you can, for those of us who never got the chance.
It’s the Virgin faced werewolf’s baby…duh. God, this franchise is so stupid. Granted they make a ton of cash, but damn is this just awful, terrible, writing and acting. I weep for our future. Teens of America ask more from your vampires and monster mash.
Twilight Is No HARRY POTTER. HARRY POTTER IS #1.
Yes Twilight isn’t Harry Potter idiot ! There two different things and Potter is over obviously you Potter fans need a life.
Yeah. Big difference. Harry Potter will be still read 100 years from now.
Because obviously the people camped out here have a life…
There two different things? WHERE?
i feel said for you because you actually think thats a helpful, insightful, correct comment. And, learn some grammar sweetie. There refers to a place, They’re is the contraction of they and are, and their refers to a group of people. Pick one, preferably the correct one. Oh and read harry potter book. i might change your life.
Love, Potter fans around the world<3
Occupy Twilight
I just don’t get it

Help!
What losers. Way to get excited about a totally mediocre piece of pop culture.
If I could +1 this, rec this, or like this comment, I would.
The box office has been sluggish this year so this industry people should be happy about this. It gets people into theatres again and that’s only good for this business. So people should stop dissing this franchise.
A lot of pathetic people in this picture, the second pic is even more pathetic. TOTAL PATHETICNESS.
The Twilight franchise lost me with the first movie. Watching KStew biting her lip and looking constipated, and RPatz looking morose, for two hours is not how I wish to spend my movie-going dollars.
