The clock has started on 24, the feature version of the Imagine Entertainment/Fox series. The project brings back Kiefer Sutherland’s tireless government operative Jack Bauer.
Mark Bomback — a favorite writer at 20th Century Fox writing The Wolverine and Shadow Divers – is doing some last minute tweaking of Billy Ray’s script, and will turn it in by year’s end. Imagine and the studio have about five directors in mind — no, Tony Scott is not attached anymore — and it will all begin happening very quickly in the early part of next year. The goal is to get the film into production to match Sutherland’s availability, which begins in April. That should give producer Brian Grazer something to do after he completes producing the Academy Awards, and it is certainly good news for fans of the show who were beginning to fear the project wouldn’t happen.

Bring it on DAMMIT!!!
Nobody can do this movie justice except Jon Cassar or Stephen Hopkins!
Finally a new 24 movie. Now when can we expect The Sopranos to hit the big screen ?
Only interested in this if it’s a prequel with all the favorite characters back in action.
I used to be the biggest, hardest 24 junkie that there was. You wouldn’t believe the extent of it. But – the show is over. Warming it up just for the money has not worked in some of the seasons, and I doubt that the movie is a good idea. Despite having been such a huge fan, I no longer really care and I’m not sure I want the movie to happen. Especially if it turns out to be only Bauer and there is no Almeida. I would have loved the movie if it had happened at a time when all of the old cast could have been in it. But now it just makes no sense to me anymore.
Jon Cassar should absolutely direct this movie!! Not a smart thing to leave him out of the loop. I have loved 24 from the beginning and can’t wait for it to return but certain elements are vital and Jon is one of ‘em. Put the egos aside and work it out. Looking forward to seeing Kiefer and crew. Bring back the Chloe and Tony Almeida characters.
i fell in love with 24 the very first season. (i have every season on dvd)i really got into jack’s charcter and the other cast members who made up the ctu gang ;however, at times i felt they killed off to many good charcters way too soon during the episodes. hell let it play out first. george was really good at being a pain in the butt,a real pain in the butt boss. chapelll could really piss me off as well interfering with jack’s means of going about collecting the information he needed so badly. we need charcters like that to make the movie work, they have you going through an emotional roller coaster, hell you could hire me to work on the movie. i’ve been at this spy thing a long long time, since my james bond days. we need certain elements in the movie to make this movie a big sucess and dammit i am a true fan. i have a 24 t-shirt. call me…i already got the plot all figuered out. i’d put so many twist and turns in the movie you would have to watch it twice just to clarify what you thought you saw and heard. come on with the movie already…
I wish they would bring back the series. I really miss that show. Watched it avidly.
24 hours is the best film i have ever watch, pls when is season nine will be out.
I hope tony comes back in the movie one more time they kept it opened at the end of the 7th season for him too and i think Audrey should hook up with jack at the end i can’t wait for the movie.
