BET Networks has signed a multi-platform talent deal with former CNN anchor T.J. Holmes. Under the pact, Holmes will host a new show on BET and contribute to BET.com. Details on his BET show are still sketchy and the network wouldn’t confirm whether the program will be daily or weekly, but it is expected to feature Holmes’ prospective on current events as well as human interest stories. At CNN, Holmes anchored major breaking news stories and human interest pieces ranging from the tornadoes across the Midwest and Southeast to the Gulf oil spill in 2010 to Saddam Hussein’s execution in 2006. Holmes came to CNN from NBC11 in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Oh, well. CNN will be poorer for this. There were perfectly good prime time slots he should have anchored.
Good for TJ. He will flourish with his new project.
I am sad only because I never watch BET and I think TJ is great.
This guy was more biased than Dan Rather. He had no business being on an alleged mainstream news channel. He will never be heard from again which is just fine.
BET must have offered him seven-figures, that or perhaps CNN was underpaying him and not budging on price. I say this because he was perfect on air and had great chemistry with other hosts. Also doesn’t hurt that the women seem to like him. This is definitely a loss for CNN.
Handsome Check
Good Anchor – NOT
Well deserved. Congrats!
This guy is the phoniest anchor since Keith Morrison, without the shoe leather Morrison has worn into the medium. He often appears to be thinking about something besides what he is talking about, rendering him about phony as they come. CNN can certainly do better, and does, with anchors like Don Lemon.
I really like TJ and thought him to be one of the finest journalist/reporters on CNN. Don’t really watch BET, but maybe I’ll tune in now that TJ is there. Good luck TJ,
hope things work out for you.
