Thirty years after Dick Clark launched TV Bloopers, Dick Clark Prods is bringing the franchise back back with Bloopers, a new weekly syndicated series, which will premiere in the fall of 2012. The program has already been cleared on the Tribune-owned stations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Washington DC, Houston, Seattle, Miami, Sacramento, Portland, Indianapolis, San Diego, Hartford, Harrisburg, Grand Rapids, and New Orleans. Comprised of 120 half-hour episodes over the next three years, Bloopers is intended to play as a back-to-back hour on weekends and will feature new bloopers, hidden camera gags and user-generated videos. It is is distributed domestically by Trifecta Entertainment & Media, the company founded in 2005 by former MGM Television President Hank Cohen. Bloopers originated as TV Bloopers, a series of 7 specials hosted by Dick Clark, which aired on NBC from 1981 to Feb. 1984. It morphed into TV’s Bloopers & Practical Jokes, a regular series Clark co-hosted with Ed McMahon on NBC from 1984 to 1988. “We started Bloopers in 1981 and are delighted to bring this timeless franchise back to today’s audience,” DCP CEO Mark Shapiro said.

If it airs on WGN in chicago, hoping they can get rid of Bill Cunningham’s show to air this program.
I’m glad I grew up in the 80′s. I don’t have to watch 90% of current programming since I’ve already seen it.
This show inspired PUNK’D. Odd that they both announced new shows on the same day.
Heart palpitations!
Should be a big hit with anyone who can’t find YouTube.
Ahhhh, you beat me to it!
Remember when DC use to be a respected guy working in the music/tv business…
These days all you seem to hear about is the shit he stirs..
Putting America back to work!
Sure, working for Dick Clark Productions is a few notches above minimum wage but, hey, it’s work!
Hey, I suppose even Mario Lopez needs to work.
Another solid move by Hank Cohen and his partners. These guys are working a little below the wire but with a few more original commercial properties they are going to be a force. Hank is a good guy who has found a home in this area. With his creative background in this kind of programming (he was at ABC when they bought America’s funniest Video’s) Bloopers should be a good programmer. Very low cost programming that can be put together with the right host and graphics packages and work in these weekend time periods. I really hope this is another hit for Trifecta with more to come. Congrats to Henry, Shelly, Scott and MIchael.
