How did we miss this? Fox Business news on the network’s “Follow the Money” program last week opined that Disney’s The Muppets movie storyline featuring an evil oil baron made it the latest example of Hollywood’s anti-corporate liberal agenda. “They’ve been doing it for decades. Hollywood, the left, the media, they hate the oil industry,” complained Dan Gainor of the conservative Media Research Center. ”They hate corporate America. And so you’ll see all these movies attacking it”:

Are these clowns accusing Disney of being anti-corporate? DISNEY???
Disney needs to make a film about all the evil charities and NGOs.
Poor oil business! What in the world have they ever done to hurt animals?!
What’s funny is that Disney didn’t do ALL those movies. Sony had the rights to the movies for years.
Sony is anti-corporate! Boo! *sarcasm*
Yeah, Sony, the same studio that thinks junk like Adam Sandler “comedies” deserve to see the light of day.
Wow. Just wow.
I missed this because I’m not one of the 18 people who watch Faux Bidness at any given time. This is priceless though. At some point y’all have to just wear the tin foil hats on air. Everything is a conspiracy against you. There’s hidden meaning EVERYWHERE! Look at that stop sign…it’s leaning to the left.
Aren’t these the same people who whine about Sharpton and the pc crowd? How are they any different?
Part of the problem is those liberals love to read, while the conserves can just get their edumacation from the TV, so as to have more personal time with family and friends, I mean Fox and Friends… no, sorry! Family and Friends…
Just say moo…
I didn’t see the Muppets movie. Was it about a global oil corp cutting costs and making decisions that led to 4.9 million barrels of oil flowing into the ocean?
Now that I know is anti corporate, I’ll go see it.
Yes. And on a side note, it was reported this week that for the first time, in the month of November, the U.S. EXPORTED more gasoline than we IMPORTED. Why? Because the oil companies don’t like the low prices and abundant supplies in the U.S. right now, so they’re selling it overseas to make more MONEY.
No it isn’t.
In short, the plot of the movie concerns a muppet named Walter who is a huge fan of the Muppets. He persuades Kermit to get the crew back together again for one more show in order to save the muppet theater and the theme park from Tex Richman and his plans to tear it down so he could drill for oil. For the record, the show is a revival of The Muppet Show which first aired in the late 1970′s.
For me, there aren’t any real issues with the movie except for Disney advertising Cars 2 outside the theater.
Slow news week for Faux when they attack the true spirit of their news network which has always been a master shoving his hand up the ass of an attractive puppet to amuse the masses with comedy and lies…..but where are the musical numbers…? And when will they light the lights ? It’s Faux news alright….
Fox News is owned by News Corporation which is run by Rupert Murdoch. MSNBC is owned by Comcast. CNN is owned by Time Warner. Kevin Trudeau has said that he has been in the Green Room at Fox where one guest was told to have one opinion and another guest was given the script to have another opinion even though he or she didn’t agree with it.
It’s like even though the owners of these stations are on the same team, each network is given script for the neo conservatives (Fox), the Democratic National Committee (MSNBC) or neutral (CNN). So, one network blames the left, the other blames the right and another just says what both parties say. However, when a host on one of these networks like Cenk Uygur points out that both parties are to blame, management says that they can’t have that, so they fire him despite his ratings increase.
You’re quoting Kevin Trudeau?
The infomercial liar, thief & fraud!
I hate Faux News as much as anyone else, but at least use a credible source for your attacks on it.
The guests were paid pundits, part of Fox talking heads. All the networks do this… it’s called producing… Point counter point, with the news anchor as the moderator.
Take your tin foil hat off.
Was Trudeau told what to say, or perhaps, he was a real guest and not a talking head.
Cenk Uyger is a nut bag. He needs to take off his tin foil hat as well.
I can imagine Roger Ailes saying something like this to his female anchors and guests.
Fox News to female anchor or guest: “Here’s the story we will be presenting today and here’s the opinion we want you to have. If you don’t actually agree with this, I don’t care because you’re paid to read a teleprompter.”
MSNBC to anchor or guest: “Fox News has this opinion, we want you to take opposite viewpoint. If you don’t actually agree with this, I don’t care because you’re paid to read a teleprompter.”
Why, are The Muppets wrong? I hate Corporate America too.
Occupy Sesame Street! LOL Look at The Smurfs! Their leader wear a RED hat and have a white beard! LIKE KARL MARX! The Smurfs don’t use money! THEY’RE COMMUNISTS! THEY’RE BRAINWASHING OUR KIDS!
… You mean, it’s not fair and balanced? Uh, oh…
Getting Fox parents to take their kids to see Alvin & the Chipmunks 3 next week? I love it when a conspiracy theory is just a conspiracy.
Fox would never put anything anti-business and conservative values on the air – like The Simpsons or Family Guy.
Yes, Fox TV has The Simpsons. When the nuke jokes got to be too much, the nuclear industry formally complained to News Corp. Suddenly Matt Groening is backing off from making nuclear power jokes.
Plus, they own the rights to the highest grossing movie of all time that has a pro environment message. You know, the one in 3D that has it’s plot similar to Dances With Wolves and has blue people? What’s the name? Something tar?
Actually, the purpose behind the oil tycoon was supposed to be a a cheesy 80′s throwback. It was supposed to imitate a played out 80′s theme.
Also, with the “brainwashing” involves making sure you “get to children while they are young” that seems to be the same thing that churches did/do. Line up 100 people from any religion and ask them when they were first exposed and see how many people say while they were in college.
I would also like to point out that the people who made these movies are in the top 1% of wage earners and the movie was put out by Disney (a publicly traded DOW company). So they obviously don’t hate corporate america. They were making jokes. Jokes that were funny I might add.
Doesn’t this “News” network have something better to spend 8 minutes on? This recession must really be over if a nationally syndicated “news” network can spend 8 minutes on something like this.
I thought the Disney-Newscorp feud was over when they sold their L.A. baseball teams.
Wouldn’t surprise me. Angels (my team btw) have a real owner unlike that guy on the other team who thinks battling with his wife in divorce court is more important than getting good free agents. No Pujols for you guys!
When will the middle America turn off this b.s. on their TVs?? Who/what will they attack next? Is Santa promoting a liberal agenda? What about the Easter Bunny? Hopefully they stay away from Puff the Magic Dragon!
Don’t worry–Middle America already has. Fox Business gets incredibly low ratings. (I’d ask myself if this were a publicity stunt–get everyone worked up by saying something incredibly stupid–but then I remind myself that no, these guys actually *believe* what they’re saying.)
I love The Muppets!! Damn you Fox News!!
Everyone who isn’t the head of a corporation or hasn’t gotten rich off the back of corporations hate Corporate America
So does this mean that Fox is anti- business for releasing Wall Street?
OMG I’m soooo glad your kids didn’t notice the anti-corporate pro-green message of WALL-E. What would have happen to them if a movie actually spawned a discussion with you, their parent? Better to just put them in front of the boob tube as a babysitter than actually try to teach them anything.
Great job parenting. We know more thoughtless children to head to Wall Street and corporate America and lead our country’s economy down the drain because they only care about themselves and how much they can steal from hard working Americans.
“they hate the oil industry”
As we all should. Let’s see, it’s the reason we start wars. It spills and ruins the oceans. Hmmm, after all, I guess those aren’t valid reasons at all, what’s wrong with us?
So they’re suggest the Walt Disney Corporation hates Corporate America?
this is one of the most asinine reports to come out of Fox …..a muppet movie??
the other was a report on trying to rid xmas carols of the use of the word “gay”…..
You probably missed it because you don’t watch morons.
Yeah, I am reminded of that evil, left wing diatribe Patton. ANd it’s all those Liberals who own all those corporations like GE and Disney and News Corp that are pushing this Liberal agenda.
The only morons bigger than the fools that claim this are those that believe it.
They’re going to love “The Lorax”.
No kidding.
“The Lorax” is about environmentally unfriendly corporations???? Get out! I thought it was just a cute story about a furry curmudgeon?
how do i hate fox news? let me count the ways…
