Talking to MTV after the Britannia Awards, the actress describes her role as Dr. Julia Hoffman: “She’s an alcoholic psychiatrist, so I hadn’t played that before. And she’s got a secret. They all have secrets. It’s all about people who have secrets.” The movie as a whole? “It’s very original and it’s kind of uncategorizable. It’s going to be impossible to sell, frankly, because … it’s a soap opera, but it’s very, very subtle. I don’t know. We’ll see. It’s a ghost story, but then it’s an unhappy vampire story” — directed by Tim Burton with Johnny Depp as the vampire Barnabas Collins and Eva Green as Angelique. Warner Bros. has slated the Village Roadshow coproduction to open May 11.

It’s Gothic horror. What’s so hard about that?
Secrets, danger and the occult in on old, New England family. With Johnny Depp as the vampire whose arrival dredges up the past. Bam, done.
Johnny Depp as a vampire. Hmm. I wonder how they’re going to sell this one. I guess this is why actresses aren’t expected to come up with marketing strategies.
She’s an awesome actress but goddamn! Brush up on the interview skills baby
Nice way to carelessly put a stake through the heart of a new movie before it’s out. A true talent should know better than to be so damaging to a fledgling project. Respect lost for HBC, poor Tim.
I agree with the above poster. Why is it whenever I see HBC, she’s always dressed as if she’s in a TB film 24/7 ?
Does she NOT have any other clothes in her closet ?
A very talented actor, indeed!
She dressed like that before Burton.
They’ve made Dr.Julia Hoffman an alcoholic?
WTF?
Helena’s British and is probably unaware of the impact the original series had and continues to have. Baby boomers will turn out in force for this, especially when they hear four of the original stars (including Frid) will have cameos in the picture.
If you think Dr. Hoffman is bad, wait until you get a look at the housekeeper.
“An unhappy vampire story”? Yeah, you’re right, those NEVER make any money *coughtwilightcough*
hard to sell??
Tim Burton film
Helena Bonham Carter
Johny Depp
Eva Green
Chloe Moretz
I soo want to watch this film.
Hard to sell or impossible to watch? Yet another Depp over-the-top fluff-fest vehicle. What’s next? Burton’s take on Archive Bunker’s Place with Depp in the titular role?
