TONE PEOPLE TONE. A trainwreck.
This movie looks horrendous. And the “villain” plot is exactly the same as the one in Shankman’s Hairspray.
…and “Footloose”
This trailer needs more Cruise.
My grannie is stoked for this one!
Love it. Cruise is still the bomb.
Agreed. And the trailer’s pretty good. But it’s too long.
Attention Hollywood: A trailer should never be over a minute and 45-seconds. Keep audiences hungry! Let US use OUR imaginations and get excited about what may or may not be coming.
But it does look nice and Cruise will ALWAYS be a movie star.
Hideous!
Yawn…and Catherine and Julianne are so overacting. Huge flop!
well….that’s 3 minutes of my life that I’ll never get back.
film making at its finest
Haha. Looks awesome.
Ouch.
The Apple part 2?
LOL…that’s very apt.
This would have been an awesome cast…in 2002.
Yawn.
boy, does that look crappy! They squeezed any joy out of that one…
I still like Tom Cruise and can’t wait to see Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, but that trailer was just plain awful.
This kind of looked like an SNL movie.
The people that loved Tree of Life are gonna hate this.
The people that love Glee are gonna love it.
Everyone in this movie seems to have their jazz hands and overacting on full throttle.
Uhh, I loved Tree of Life and think this looks fun. The overacting is likely intentional BTW… kinda goes with the whole spirit of the 80s.
I absolutely hated Tree of Life and I’m pretty sure if I ever saw this (based off this “trailer”), I’d also hate it.
“Spinal Tapped-Out”
I guess someone loved GREASE 2. Is there any other explanation for this?
i love how we don’t get to hear any singing from Tom Cruise in this trailer!!!
I CAN’T FREAKING WAIT!!!!! The We’re not gonna take it/We built this city mashup is awesome! Kudo’s to the editing team cause I’m gonna see it JUST because of that trailer!
Nice post, Adam Shankman.
Looks like someone needs to go back to school and retake “How To Be A Plant But Not Post Like One”.
I’m gonna go ahead and argue the opposite… WORST CUT trailer I’ve ever seen. The flashing lights and erratic cuts don’t allow you to even wrap your head around what you’ve just seen. There will definitely have to be a #2.
Kerplunk. Major bomb. This looks AWFUL.
There’s something about seeing it in a broadway theater with broadway actors overacting ’80s rock that’s… acceptable… if you can enjoy that.
The minute it’s turned into a big production, with “NAMES!” (cap letters and exclaim intentional) it changes everything that might have been charming about this.
It will be huge. And suck. A lot.
This movie is gonna suck SO bad…..
When the people at my work saw this today they were so excited. I am serious, the patients at the nursing home had trouble calming down for nap time.
Sorry. He’s just not convincing as a rock star.
what??? it’s, uh, 2012. 20 years ago? cool. today? oh oh. but what do i know.
