The trailer for The Cabin In The Woods went online today. The horror thriller that stars Chris Hemsworth was finished before his breakthrough as Thor. Directed by Cloverfield scribe Drew Goddard, who co-wrote it with Joss Whedon, the MGM project stalled because of that company’s financial problems and Lionsgate made a deal to distribute it, eventually setting it to open April 13, 2012. Cast includes Richard Jenkins, Bradley Whitford, Jesse Williams, Kristen Connolly, Anna Hutchison, Brian White, Amy Acker, Reila Aphrodite and Jodelle Ferland.

New ‘Man Of Steel’ Television Spot #6
Looks pretty fun, actually. Kristen Connelly is a hotty.
That looks far more run of the mill than I was hoping for. I have heard really good things.
Looks pretty thin, actually.
Sounded good…until I watched it and saw Fran Kranz. He’s the worst.
Boo to you. He’s great.
I see him around a lot. I think he was funny in the TV Set. He runs with that Ivy league assistant/CE crowd. There’s this one kid who thinks just because he wears Vineyard Vines and “Likes’ the Black Dog Cafe on Facebook, that means something. I want to be like shut your face before I shut it for you. I will out WASP you any day.
I should’ve just ended it at “I think he was funny in the TV set.” I’m trying to be a nicer person. You can erase both of these comments.
Really? Maybe you haven’t heard, but Kranz has recently cast by these two nobodies, Mike Nichols and Scott Rudin, to appear alongside two other “lousy” actors, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Andrew Garfield, in Death of a Salesman on Broadway. Kranz is the worst? Get a clue, jackass.
Looks good.
looks like it goes to some fucked up, interesting place. I just might see that.
Now I know what the offspring of The Truman Show and Hostel movies would look like.
The plot twist is ridiculous.
I literally have no idea what this movie is about.
Looks awesome, I have been waiting for this movie forever!
Not what I was expecting at all but very intriguing.
OMG I can’t wait! Looks so scary!!!!
OMG I love everything Joss Whedon does so I am most definitely going to see this!!!
Wow. Horror usually isn’t my thing but this obviously isn’t your run-of-the-mill horror movie. I’m in.
OMG! LOL! BFF! IMHO (I Must Hurl Outside).
This MAY be decent, but the trailer is iffy. I do like Joss Whedon’s work, but this is difficult to get excited by. The trailer needed to show the character more – Whedon is good at balancing the good characters with intense situations. This trailer, however, doesn’t show that side. It’s too much of the typical modern horror trailer with the young, attractive people freakin’.
I assumed MGM was going to leave their name on the movie, like Miramax did with the movies they sold. Are they ashamed, or do they just need extra money to co-fund those Sony movies?
Not what i was expecting at all. In Joss we trust.
So what is it? A homage to about twenty different serial killer and horror movies?
At least no one connected with the trailer is worried about giving any plot twists away.
Looks ambitious, that’s more than I can say for many. Cool to see Chris and Jesse in something else. Good guys and Joss has the track record.
Question, if Joss Whedon’s name wasn’t associated with this in any way, would you say that trailer looks intriguing, or it looks like the worst piece of suck-ass, b-movie genre bullshit I’ve ever seen?
Just curious.
Yes, to both parts.
Jesse Williams! Damn, that boy is FINE!
This crap is all the same. We’ve seen this movie every year for about the last 25 years.
Hot Trailer?
Really??
I can see the pitch meeting now,
Goddard: ‘It’s a teen horror film…but the psycho killers are…wait for it…’
Whedon, interjecting, “Aliens!’
Executive, looking up from his blackberry, “that…is fucking genius!”
OK, this explains alot. I tried reading the script but got bored so I started to skip ahead. And boy oh boy, it really didn’t make sense then. I skipped to the end and thought, “ok, I think I’ll just wait for the movie”.
Jeff Dixon is an idiot and doesn;t know what he’s talking about…this looks pedestrian and boring and no idea what this movie is trying to be….And yes, this movies trying to be something, im just saying it failed.
