Howard Stern For ‘America’s Got Talent’?
Interesting timing of NBC’s announcement — just as the nominations for the Golden Globes were being announced, NBC sent out a release that Howard Stern is set as a new judge on the network’s summer reality series America’s Got Talent. To accommodate the radio host, whose SiriusXM program originates from New York, production of the live shows of America’s Got Talent will be moved to the Big Apple. Adding to the big pricetag: Stern’s salary. The shock jock had been looking for $15 million a year. “Howard Stern’s larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic to America’s Got Talent starting this summer,” NBC’s president of alternative and late night Paul Telegdy said. “Howard is very passionate about this show and is fully committed to its future success.” America’s Got Talent is produced by FremantleMedia North America and Simon Cowell’s SYCO Television.

Stern is the Beatles of our time – the biggest most talented voice in entertainment. He just put this show on the map in the biggest way possible. The only way to top this would be to hire Bill Clinton as a judge, but I’d still rather watch Stern.
I hope this show completely tanks. Howard Stern is a classless a-hole and no way will I continue to watch the show. There are so few family-oriented shows for the family and adding a turd like Howard Stern who constantly debases women is a bad move. I truly hopes he is a monumental failure.

Judith, I agree with you 100%. Stern is nothing but a LOW-LIFE.A lot of channels will not put him on.He is so bad mouth when he had his talk radio show, and America Got Talent hired him and moving the show to New York. I Can’t believe it Randy or J Low will the show do this for you two. I had a lot of respect for Simon Cowell,now he loss my respect same goes for X-Factor he should fire Nicole and Paula, both of them are nothing. Just two Air Heads. Simon is the Producer of both shows.
You need to understand that the man he plays on the radio is not the “real” man. He’s a great professional who knows how to play to the level of the game he’s in. If you think that he’s going to turn AGT into strippers and lesbians, you’re wrong. He’s a very intellegent man who happens to be one of the greatest interviewers of our time and a great judge of talent.
Think of him what you will, but for me and millions of others who have spent the last 25 years listening to him (since I was 10 on the radio on the East Coast), Howard, Robin and Fred are like extended family.

I could not agree with you more. I have watched every season of AGT but not this season. I will not waste 2 hours on each show listening to his filthy mouth.

Stern is a genius. He’ll make pg-13 insults to the contestants (most likely calling women hookers and men wimps), take home $15 million dollars and spend years talking about the show on his R-rated radio show. Howard’s one talent: making people give him money.

The only thing I will be watching regarding this show will be notice of its end! Howard Stern brings no “class” to the panel of judges.
America’s Got Talent? I heard him discussing this this morning and I thought he was offered a job on The X Factor. All I could think was, “You gotta be kidding!”

As a radio guy I have to say, Howard’s brand of humor and entertainment isn’t for me. I’ve never been a fan. That said, he is a great interviewer with legions of fans who are loyal to a fault. This is a smart move by NBC. Will it make me watch the show? No, not at all. But I’m not who they are trying to bring in. They’re working on the hardcore Stern fans that will follow him wherever he goes.
I will not be watching…Howard Stern is the epitome of low. The producers must have been desperate.
What a country we live in when a starving artist like Stern can finally make that big contract he’s been waiting for all his life.
America’s Got Talent just increased their viewership by one… Never seen it before, but won’t miss it now!
