Last night’s edition of Saturday Night Live hosted by show’s alum Jimmy Fallon with musical guest Michael Buble averaged a season-high 5.3 rating/13 share in metered-market households. In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, SNL posted a 3.0/13 among adults 18-49. Fallon was joined by fellow former SNL regulars Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Tracy Morgan, Rachel Dratch, Horatio Sanz and Chris Kattan as well as Jude Law who made a cameo (video below):

Is this a surprise? Everyone’s home on break watching TV late on Saturday night instead of their usual bar-hopping binge-drinking, and Jimmy Fallon’s funnier than any host they’ve had this season. Plus Michael Buble is good with the Christmas music.
Am I the only person who notices that SNL now routinely uses white actors in ‘tan-face’ to perform African American characters (Obama, Hota Kotb, others)?
You are telling me that Mya Rudolph was the last funny black woman Lorn Micheals could find?
Wow…was that Horatio Sanz? He looks like an entirely different person.
BUBLE WAS GREAT, THE SHOW WAS AWFUL, NOT FUNNY
EXCEPT THE TEBOW SKIT,ONLY BECAUSE THEY TRASHED HIM , FALLON WAS IRRATATING, JUST LIKE HE IS ON HIS TALK SHOW.SORRY FOLKS, JUST MY OPINION.FOR WHAT ITS WORTH…..
PLEASE, USE MORE CAPS NEXT TIME.
i wonder if the regular cast gets upset when old SNL cast members come back and 90% of the skits they do are with former cast members instead of the current ones.
This show was pretty funny with Fallon. Much better than last week with Katy Perry.
The show was good, the ratings terrific. NBC,I have an offer for you. Bump Fallon into The Tonight Show host’s seat and myself (36, income in the low six figures) and many more like me will resume watching The Tonight Show again. Or, you can stick with Leno and the dwindling number of home-bound 80-year-olds who watch him.
Agreed – Fallon is the future of late night
The show was really really funny.. The Buble cd commercial, Nic Cage, Update Joke-off.. This was a really strong show!!!
Anyone notice Michael b sad or choked up on second song, was odd as if he’s never sang on live television b4 perhaps camera direction looking right into America’s living room was throwing him off. just watched it bck I don’t know his back story. Sans looks different and katan was under performing though perhaps there is a story there too. Actually enjoyed Fallon. Tonight show calls…. In 20 years.
I thought Tracy Morgan hated Chris Katan? Didn’t he write a bunch of stuff in his book about hating Cheri O’Terri and Katan and that they were a couple of dicks that did nothing after SNL?
Tv101, watch the original performance of the song in Meet Me in St Louis. Garland gets choked up. Perhaps this was Buble’s homage.
That was my favorite opening monologue of all time
Man, when did Fallon get so funny? He was awesome!
