Fox and ABC, which have alternated at the top of the Wednesday 18-49 rankings this season, finished tied last night — but for second place, not first . Paced by Survivor, CBS (3.1/8) posted its first Wednesday demo win this season, edging Fox and ABC (3.0/8). Heading toward its season finale, Survivor: South Pacific (3.3/9) was up 6% from last week. Criminal Minds (3.4/8) was down 8% from its last original two weeks ago and CSI (2.5/7) was down 4%, with both series tying their season lows.
ABC’s series were up from the depressed ratings levels for their Thanksgiving Eve episodes, though those segments were labeled as specials and won’t count towards the shows’ season averages. Versus the most recent regular episodes on November 16, The Middle (2.8/8) was down a tenth fast national-to-fast national and Suburgatory (2.8/8) was flat (down a tenth from the final). Modern Family (5.0/13) was down 9% (11% from the final) to log its lowest-rated regular telecast to date, Happy Endings (2.9/7) was also down 9% and Revenge (2.4/6) was down 8%.
Similarly, NBC’s Up All Night (1.8/5) was up 20% from the special Thanksgiving Eve episode but down a tenth from its most recent regular telecast the previous Wednesday to tie its series low. Harry’s Law (1.2/3) was down 8% from last week, while Law & Order: SVU (1.9/5) was down 14% to tie its series low.
Fox’s The X Factor Top 5 performance show (3.3/9) was down 11% from last week. In its second outing, new comedy I Hate My Teenage Daughter (2.1/5) tumbled 25% from its premiere.
The season finale of CW’s America’s Next Top Model (2.4 million, 1.0/3) posted double-digit week-to-week increases: up 24% in total viewers, 25% in 18-49 and 27% in 18-34. It hit a cycle high in total viewers and matched its highest numbers among adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 this season.

People still watch Survivor? I don’t get it.
Yes, people still watch Survivor. I have seen every episode this season and for all the seasons, I think I’ve only missed one or two episodes. Survivor is one of the best shows on television!
Survivor is my favorite show on TV. That and Breaking Bad. The only two shows i DVR. I’ve tried the rest, I liked Prime Suspect, but it seems I was the only one. The rest, suck.
I’m just curious what you think is good? Survivor is chess among humans. Trust me, next season, watch from the first episode and you’ll like it.
Survivor is as consistant a show as there is. And often far more entertaining (both dramatically and comdically) than scripted fare it’s up against.
It is an aquired taste…..sorry you do not have any.
It’s not that I don’t have any taste, I just think there are real people surviving real issues. God bless ‘em for keeping the game show genre alive…I get already. But, I’m not a fan of reality tv. To each his own. Hey Karen, lighten up.
People also tune in to watch a burning yule log.
UP ALL NIGHT is painfully bad, and needs to be nuked, except for the fact that NOTHING on nbc gets ANY numbers! Even their precious thursday comedies — which are at least supposed to do good in the hip 18-49, get trounced by everything! Wow. I don’t even know if it’s possible to rebuild.
Thank you, Cash.
