Against lighter competition, The X Factor‘s Top 7 results show last night (3.1/9) was even with its last Thursday episode two weeks ago and up 19% from last week’s results edition, which aired on Wednesday. Bones (2.8/7) was up a tenth from two weeks ago. Fox (3.0/8, 9.5 million) won the night in adults 18-49 and total viewers. NBC was the only other broadcast network to air its regular lineup in originals last night. For a second consecutive time since NBC announced it was benching Community for midseason, the off-beat comedy (1.7/5) went up a tenth, matching its best demo delivery in two months. But after rising by two tenths in its last original airing two weeks ago, Parks And Recreation (1.8/5) dropped as much last night. The Office (2.9/8) and Whitney (1.9/5) were both flat with their most recent originals and tied as season/series low. With no original series competition at 10 PM, canceled Prime Suspect (1.3/4) was up two tenths (13%) from two weeks ago. With all originals, NBC (1.8/5, 4.4 million) still finished behind CBS (1.9/5, 8.4 million), which aired all reruns. ABC ran holiday specials Santa Claus Is Coming To Town (2.2/6) and CMA Country Christmas (2.1/5). The CW aired repeats.

When is whitney getting zee boot?
Probably when the Chelsea Handler show gets out, which will probably be quickly replaced by another sitcom starring a shrill middleaged woman.
Let’s talk about American Horror Story… god that train has run of the track. How are the numbers?
It’s been getting consistently good numbers actually. It most recently got a 1.7 in the demo (which is excellent for a cable show).
And it’s the 2nd highest rated show on FX after Sons of Anarchy.
Even though the tone of the show is all over the place, it’s unique concept and WTF moments keep drawing viewers I guess. I think season 2 onwards, it’s buzz will sort of die down (like what happened to Glee from season 2 to 3) and it will pull lower numbers.
Speak for yourself.
It’s actually doing quite well viewer wise. The story arc is completely wacked though – confused plotting, scenes that don’t make any sense. Inserting gay/lesbian sex just for the sake of doing it. Still, it keeps me entertained every week.
I loved the show in the beginning. Now it’s starting to irritate me. But I go through that emotional cycle with all of Ryan Murphy’s shows so that isn’t surprising. What is surprising is that I don’t usually get irritated with his shows in their first season.
Wednesday’s show was just ridiculous — what happened to Ryan’s promise to actually pay shit off instead of just pushing it off?
They’ve broken their own rules like 15,000 times… but good for them for making money on a stinker.
SAVE COMMUNITY. SAAAAVVEE. IIIIIIITTTT.
Enjoy future seasons on Bravo, Netflix, or Harmon-on-Demand dot org, but the network run is likely over…
Trust me, with all the campaigning we still have a shot. Don’t be a debbie downer.
It’s cool to like parks and rec in the way it’s cool to like an inaccessible record, but like many inaccessible records, it’s a yawner that only pleases a few.
i think parks and rec is awesome and Greg Daniels is my god. inaccessible? in what way? by being too funny? by being too smart? by being too well acted and written? by having characters (and actors) with real chemistry? i guess i am too inaccessible. that’s why i watch cable.
Say it out loud, CBS repeats beat NBC originals. Even a Rules-of-Spade repeat wins its slot, and it’s not even strong enough to stay in the CBS lineup!
Every time WHITNEY is mentioned, someone needs to trash it.
Thank you “Seriously,” you saved me the effort!

I’d like to know what the NFL Network’s football game between Seattle and Philadelphia did.
I suspect it probably beat out at least one, probably two, and maybe even three of the “big four” broadcast networks and might have won the night among men.
I’m liking all the grassroots attempts to #SaveCommunity.
The one I’m supporting, I posted on my blog at http://www.breakmentaldown.com/2011/11/take-roll-of-dice-to-savecommunity.html
Basically it involves sending dice to NBC as an inside joke that shows the fanatacism. Not gonna hurt.
My prediction right now, Community will be back next year for a swan song, Whitney will not.
YES! Thank You!
After THE OFFICE was over, WHITNEY immediately came on and I switched the channel to The Big Bang Theory re-run. Sorry I just don’t find WHITNEY very funny.
I think a lot of the NBC Thursday stuff is pretty clever but Big Bang Theory is still funnier than all of them combined. And after all, isn’t that the purpose of a comedy, to make us laugh??
Community is endlessly weird and very creative and for that it will always have a special place in my heart but it’s just not what people are responding to on network TV.
Parks and Rec is getting repetitive and I’m not laughing much this season. Though I do like when Patricia Clarkson shows up. But then again, she can appear as a picture in a copy of a news paper in a show and I’d still enjoy that.
Sorry to see “Prime Suspect” having such a rough time of it, even if the numbers are finally up a bit.
Bello is terrific, and the detectives’ bullpen has to be the best to hit television in 20-30 years. A terrific bunch of characters and actors, terrific writing for them, and they are all such a great fit for one another, even when the point is that they’re not.
I guess I enjoy the show too much for it NOT to slip away now.
Was this week’s Prime Suspect episode the last unaired one, or are there more yet unaired?
I also think “Prime Suspect” is a top notch show. One of the best on TV in fact. If NBC is dumb enough to bail on it I hope another network picks it up with the same cast and writers. If not network TV then cable – USA or TNT. It’s too good to disappear.
