Sara Rue, who hosted the CW’s reality series Shedding For The Wedding last season, is back at the network, this time as the creator/star/producer of a multi-camera comedy project. As part of the CW’s push into half-hour comedies this season, the network has bought Poseurs, which follows Lucy (Rue), a young woman whose life is upended when her fiancée moves out and her fresh-from-rehab collegiate best friend, Alexandra, moves in. The two friends pose as a lesbian couple and actually get married in order to stay in the nice apartment building that only allows married couples. Rue will write the Warner Bros. TV-produced project, which has received a script commitment, and will serve as a co-executive producer, while her long-time manager Alan David will be a producer. APA-repped Rue is recurring on CBS’ Rules Of Engagement.

I’m excited for this one. I’ve always loved her.
Good to see Sara Rue back. The CW is a good fit. She’s looking GREAT these days, but I loved her back when she was chubby too
Thin or fat, extremely dateable! Hope her new show does well!
She’s soooo watchable! So glad she’s doing another sitcom! And she created it! Good for her!
Love the premise, love Sara!
So does this mean the CW is getting back into half hour comedy?
Oh, look, it’s Three’s Company minus Jack Tripper to the power of Bosom Buddies!
Now all CW needs is a family comedy and a more male skewing comedy and I’d be happy.
They should order this and ACTING OUT.
The other comedies they’ve bought are AWFUL.
They shouldn’t try more than one hour, it’s been a long time since comedies were on The CW and launching too many at one time would be a mistake.
I wonder if Rules of Engagement is ever going to do anything with her pregnancy story line??? It just sort of disappeared and hasn’t been mentioned in any episodes! Totally weird and also irritating….
Why would the fiancee be allowed to live there — being a fiancee is not being married. Leasing to only married couples is illegal in most places. Sorry, but this sounds lame and completely outdated.
“reality check” did you get it right! let’s drive a truck right through this…Half hour comedy doesn’t kill comedy series…stupid shows like this do. Still…comedy series on the CW are so welcome…good ones.
Bring back Smallville. That might save them. Damn the CW ratings got horrific all of a sudden. It was never great, but on the rare occasion, a CW showing would beat something on the other nets. Now it’s frightening. Ratings are getting so low as to be unmeasurable.
The CW audience didn’t like Sara Rue the first time around, or they would have supported her show. Now the CW will try pushing her to the CW audience again. CW, you are the definition of futility. Do you ever learn?!
And get rid of that bilious green color scheme. It’s making everyone ill!
This sounds exactly like the other comedy they’ve just picked up — a married couple divorces but stays in the same apartment due to the financial crisis. Just make them a “pseudo-gay” couple and you’ve got the same show.
