Amy Retzinger & Rob Golenberg Exit Gersh
EXCLUSIVE: Veteran Gersh TV lit agent Amy Retzinger, who left the agency last week, is joining boutique agency Verve. Retzinger will be a new partner at the agency, the first agent outside the founding trio of Bryan Besser, Adam Levine, and Bill Weinstein to join the partnership. She will start on January 2. “Amy is a dynamic, respected force in the television business with superior taste, excellent clients, and a ferocious drive,” Besser, Levine, and Weinstein said in a statement. “She will be an important and powerful addition to our growing business.” Retzinger adds TV lit experience to Verve, whose founding partners hail from the feature side of lit representation. But the agency does not plan to create film and TV departments, opting instead to keep its current fluid structure in which agents do everything. During her decade-long tenure at Gersh, Retzinger was a senior member of the agency’s TV literary department, representing writers and directors on such series as Breaking Bad, Mad Men, The Walking Dead, and The Good Wife. “In its two-year history, Verve has proven to be a very creative, forward-thinking company in its approach to the representation business,” Retzinger said. ” I’m looking forward to joining the team, and to continuing to build the company into the premiere agency in the industry.” Next month will mark the second anniversary of Verve, which was launched on January 4, 2010.

The Verve team is great and deserves success. Happy they are growing their business.
Is any of this really news-worthy? I like Amy, but Verve is a nothing agency. She could have done better or just stayed at Gersh. Gersh is solid. Those guys at Verve are dreamers who wish they were Patrick and Ari.
Congrats to everyone at Verve on the continued growth of the agency. Can’t wait to see what the future holds.
Amy is awesome. Verve is great. Fantastic news for everyone involved. Great to see people with the guts to carve out their own paths. My hat is off.
Congrats on your growth…FYI…boutiques can become bigger stores…..
Love this agency. Also, their offices smell vaguely of nutmeg. Congrats, guys!
Amy is a fantastic agent and an incredible person. This is a great way for Verve to make a big tv push.
I have beeen following the work of Vervela since its inception almost 2 years ago. The work ethic and dedication to their clientele is second to no other agency. Their growth plan is on time and right on the important values that contribute to its success. Félicitations Verve, Bryan, Adam and Bill.
Is Verve the next Endeavor or the next Fortitude?
Those Verve guys are just rocking it.
“Breaking Bad, Mad Men” should be a show.
Hey Stamos. If you knew anything about the principals of Fortitude and Verve you would know they could not be more different. MM is a very bad, desparate liar who lacks a shred of integrity and would sell his best friend for a steak dinner. Bill W is the exact opposite.
Hey objective observer, if you knew anything about being an objective observer, you would be a little more objective and do a little more observing. Or maybe you should change your name to Subjective Participant?
OMG that was really funny. And true. and funny.
What about her clients? Anybody traveling with her, or is she starting fresh?
Good for Verve, Bill is a great solid agent, Adam is a poor man’s Sammy Glick and Besser is shoe gum scum. Good luck Amy.
adam levine is a VERY poor mans glick…pure fuckup.
Theses guys are awesome & Amy will be a welcome addition & very happy with her choice! Keep on rocking guys & now Amy!
Fortitude was a debacle. Why? Because of who started it. Best thing was the name. I always thought it was obvious Press was a tool. Enjoy Buchwald. They still an agency?
Did you know that Amy went to Harvard?
Funny, I think she did mention that
