Fox has bought Move Over, a relationship comedy from writer/executive producer Timothy Stack (Son Of The Beach), while the CW has bought The Makery, an ensemble multi-camera/hybrid comedy written by Jason Benoit and executive produced by Teri Weinberg and Scott Aversano. Move Over, from 20th Century Fox TV, centers on a couple in their late 20s who divorce and find themselves in need of living together in the same apartment due to the financial crisis. Paradigm-repped Stack was a consulting producer on NBC’s My Name Is Earl where he also played Tim Stack, a fictional version of himself. He is currently a consulting producer on Fox’s Raising Hope. The Makery, from Weinberg’s Yellow Brick Road and Aversano’s Aversano Films, explores the life experiences of a group of 20-somethings in today’s tech-driven, entrepreneurial generation through the eyes of Ky Harrel and her sex and relationships column.

How many shows are there about economically-strapped people moving in with friend or relatives in order to save money? Like anyone wants to watch that crap anyway and be reminded of the horror that is going on around them.
These are about as dreadful as loglines can get.
Seems very similar to the web series Bunny Hug… Or sounds exactly the same.
Although, they do sound better than a Munster’s remake
People keep knocking The Munsters remake without any insight. Let’s reserve judgement until we see something to provoke the animosity. The difference between this remake and the slew of other remakes, is this one actually has really talented people attached with strong track records. This could be the exception.
Tim Stack??? I guess the networks are finally down to digging through Hollywood’s cemeteries for ideas.
…Says the bitter writer whose best work is featured in the Deadline comments section.
So… The Break Up: the Sit Com.
The concepts to both shows are just plain stupid. Epic failures before they even start.
Why on earth would we explore today’s tech-driven, entrepreneurial generation in a sex column? As opposed to say, a business column, or something that pertains to technology and entrepeneurs rather than something that just rips off sex and the city?
The concept for Move Over is funny. At least it was when I sold the exact same idea to a studio five years ago.
Man some people that are commenting on here need to get off their high horses and give these shows a chance. How can you write off a show so quickly without even reading the script or seeing a commercial. I think they both sound spunky and hilarious. Be positive people…
I’m sure if you read a one sentence description of most tv shows they would sound stupid. How can you judge these shows when you haven’t even seen a script. Give them a chance
That’s actually a really valid point. My boyfriend is a writer as well and we’ll occasionally look up the log lines and pilots to shows that have made great success and find that they were actually quite terrible and can’t believe they made it.
Tim Stack is one of the funniest writers out there. He’s done some really cool stuff over the years. And he seems to be working steady on everything Greg Garcia does so I’m sure Greg wouldn’t keep someone around that wasn’t great. So, I hope his show gets shot. I would love to see it.
