New Adventures Of Old Christine creator Kari Lizer has emerged as an early star of the broadcast pilot season with 2 orders. On the heels of NBC greenlighting her female buddy comedy Friday evening, ABC just picked up her other project. I can’t think of another case of a comedy writer-producer who has gotten 2 pilots picked up by mid-January when the broadcast networks are barely starting to order their dramas. Lizer’s untitled multi-camera comedy, from Warner Bros. TV, centers on Hilary Pfeiffer-Dunne, a high-powered executive who, having dominated the corporate America for years, now faces the biggest challenge of her life when she finds herself unemployed and acting as a full-time mom to her two teenagers. Both of Lizer’s pitches this season sold with put pilot commitments in September. The green light at ABC extends Lizer’s impressive streak of having all of her scripts to date picked up to pilot: Old Christine at CBS, True at the WB, an untitled comedy at NBC last year and her new NBC and ABC projects this year. It also continues the great success female comedy writers are enjoying at the moment. The Will & Grace alumna is repped by Scott Schwartz.

Scott Schwartz is the best agent in television!
It sounds like this could be a good show. Hopefully they will strive to stay true-to-life. Going to work is much easier than staying home with teenagers. Actually, at that age one isn’t home much. Tons of running around, volunteer work at the school and for different extra curricular activities, PTA meetings, and that is all while school is in session. Then comes getting each child to and from practices. For a lot of us that includes being the coach or instructor. Budgets being cut means parents of cheerleaders, and softball players, basketball players etc.. must be the ones to help get the students to their games and such. Ever traveled in a van filled with cheerleaders? Not an easy thing to do. Girls, cute and quiet they are not! Oh the stories I could tell…. lol
Scott Schwartz is a good agent I just wish his suits fit him better.
Congrats! She is very talented but one of the shows sounds like the failed Kelsey Grammer show when he lost his high powered job and had to reconnect with his family.
I hope one of them makes it. She is a great writer. Probably the best female voice writer in comedy tv
Kari did it again !!! Looking foward to going to the typeings… Also, Karol, Scott Schwartz looks very nice in his suits… Most people probably couldn’t even afford to buy them… Again way to go Kari!!!
