ABC has given the green light to 666 Park Ave, a drama pilot from writer David Wilcox (Fringe), Warner Bros. TV and Alloy Entertainment. Based on Alloy’s book series by Gabriella Pierce, the show is set up at a historic apartment buildings in New York City and centers on a young couple who become its managers. They unwittingly begin to experience supernatural occurrences, which complicate and endanger the lives of everyone in the residence. Wilcox is executive producing 666 Park Ave with Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo. Wilcox most recently served as a co-executive producer on Fox’s Fringe. He previously held the same position on ABC’s Life On Mars and NBC’s Law & Order. ABC chief Paul Lee previously worked with Alloy at ABC Family where he developed and greenlighted the Alloy/WBTV-produced hit Pretty Little Liars. This is the second ABC drama pilot set at a New York residential building. The network also greenlighted Shonda Rhimes/KL Steinberg’s Gilded Lillys, which takes place at a luxury NYC hotel in 1895. ABC’s other 2 drama pilots ordered so far are both large-scope: a metaphysical show from Roland Emmerich and Shawn Ryan/Karl Gajdusek’s Last Resort.TV Editor Nellie Andreeva - tip her here.

American Horror Story?
Don’t be that guy.Like the article says, this is based on a series of books, so no, it’s not trying to mimic or copy American Horror Story.
Oh but I betcha AHS’s stunning success had more than a little to do with this pickup. ABC has a monstrous number of pilots in contention this season and competition is fierce. I could see a tamer version of AHS working out very well for ABC.
Dave Wilcox is a true class act, love that he got this one – I can’t wait to read it, I hear the script is phenomenal.
Wait ONE minute. 666 Park Avenue? 666?!?! That’s the number of the beast!!!
I get it.
Why does ABC feel the need to try so hard? Can’t they just make a normal show?
Indeed, nobody ever achieved anything by being ambitious.
Because everyone else is making “normal” shows.Don’t we have enough of them on TV already? Some people actually like shows that aren’t about cops, doctors and lawyers.
Once Upon a Time is ABC’s big drama hit this season. Grimm is the only thing NBC has got going for it. On cable, Game of Thrones, American Horror Story and The Walking Dead are all hits. The verdict is in: the public wants fantasy, horror and fantasy/horror. (I could stand a little more sci fi myself – sci fi/horror would be all right.)
I think syfy helps get our minds off the problems we are all having now! That is the only reason I watch it. Sometimes I hide do to the gore but you know it is a what for!
Dreadful name, I mean come on 666? less obvious please.
Terrible idea. 666? Really? How apathetic.
Oh. I get it. A multi-level haunted house. Is it that easy to get a show on tv now?
Lame title. They should consider renaming.
Uh…and in what way is this going differ from UK show “Bedlam?”
They already have a network for you Tim. It’s called CBS and its full of plotless procedurals for the idiots and the elderly who require simple entertainment.
Wow, everyone’s a critic aren’t they? And what pilots have you all written that have gotten picked up by a major network? Why don’t you reserve your comments until after the show airs. I expect you’ll all be watching.
Congrats to you Mr. David Wilcox!
To think that I have met you on more than one occasion.
I can’t wait to see the show.
Certainly I will love your creativity!!
Good luck!!
Mary Lou
It could be a good show but they have to be nuts to go with that title.
