After NBC’s executive session at TCA this morning, NBC chairman Bob Greenblatt addressed the future of 30 Rock star Alec Baldwin, who had hinted in interviews that he may leave the NBC comedy when his original contract was up at the end of this season. Greenblatt said that the network “quietly re-upped” the Emmy-winning actor with political ambitions for next season. However, the series itself has not been renewed for Season 7. A decision on the future of 30 Rock, whose sixth season launches next week, will be made closer to the upfronts after the network sees how the show performs this season and screens its pilots, Greenblatt said.

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!
Hope NBC reminded him of or added in an acting like an a$$ clause into his contract.
Please put ’30 Rock’ to sleep… give Tina a new show…
thank God!
Perhaps that would be more appropriate for Tracy Morgan’s contract..
Bob Greenblatt needs to step up and start taking some risks. NBC is poised to break out if only the suits would think outside the box.
Shocked there’s no right-wing troll-hate here. I guess all eyes are on New Hampshire.
Do you mean in the vein of. . .”producers knew Baldwin was bluffing over leaving the show when he stayed in the country after George Bush was elected?”
Shocked isn’t the word!
With all the troubles NBC has had this year and the comments Greenblatt made about the problems associated with cast changes being a factor in declining show numbers, I’d hope 30 still proves to be a constant for them.
Maybe by giving some of the smaller characters a bigger presence somehow every once in a while just to breathe a little more life into it outside of the usual stories we see offered?
Either way, it’s a fun show. Hopefully it sticks around for a bit.
I love Tiny Fey but please get rid of this dirtbag Baldwin once and for all, as this guy is the ultimate tool in Hollywood right now.
