‘Anger Management’ Casting Female Leads Opposite Charlie Sheen: See Who’s Testing
EXCLUSIVE: Charlie Sheen is close to getting a therapist and an ex-wife on his new FX comedy series Anger Management. I hear that after today’s studio tests, frontrunner Selma Blair is moving to the next stage for the role of the therapist, along with Elaine Hendrix. Remaining in contention to play Charlie’s ex-wife are Becker alumna Shawnee Smith and Kate Reinders (ABC’s Work It). The quartet were among seven actresses invited to test for the parts today. The four finalists are expected to meet with FX next. On the Lionsgate TV-produced Anger Management, which has an initial 10-episode order from FX, Sheen portrays Charlie, a former baseball player with anger issues who winds up as an unconventional anger management therapist. There are three other leads on the series — all female:

Charlie’s own therapist, envisioned as a love interest for him; his ex-wife; and his 13-year-old daughter. Under the model employed by Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury, if the 10-episode run hits a ratings target, that will trigger a 90-episode order by FX, which would be produced on an accelerated schedule over the next two years.

Most humans have had their fill of Charlie Sheen. And having a show that makes light of his serious mental health issues isn’t the way to make us forget them or forgive him. The damage he did to his children alone is criminal and cannot be undone simply by announcing “I’m better now!”
You are pathetic Ed, you don’t know him or his family and children so please don’t speak for them, your bitterness and jealousy are pathetic and to declare yourself as some voice for his own children is disgusting.
p.s: can’t wait to watch Anger Management, go Charlie !!
Dear Team Charlie (If “Lucy” isn’t actually “Charlie” himself):
Two helpful hints:
1) When you rage back at someone like that, it’s obvious you’re Charlie or T.C.
2) When you state that you “can’t wait to watch Anger Management, go Charlie !!”, again, obvious.
If you’re Charlie, you’re embarrassing yourself. If you’re T.C., you’re embarrassing HIM.
Euh sorry (not really actually) to disapoint you but i am not ‘Charlie’ just a young woman named ‘Lucy’ yep that’s my name, and yep i am clever to stay away from judging artists personal lives, i love Charlie Sheen work and i am damn proud of it so now move on and keep your silly assumptions for you please.
p.s: and and yeah your response to my post makes you even more pathetic than you already are..it sucks to be you poor fool.
Again i can’t wait to watch Anger Management.
So now the poster can only be ‘Charlie’ because he points some so called hard truths to a pathetic bashing poster..seriously ‘Ingrid Cold’ (hey i am sure your real name is Chuck Lorre..ha) are you for real ? And like ‘Charlie’ would waste his time responding to some pathetic internet bashing post..ha ha ha..you seriously need help if you believe that, ‘pathetic’ is too kind for you.
Selma Blair is an *awful* actress. How about someone with actual talent like Judy Greer, Leslie Grossman, or Missi Pyle?
I’m not sure about Selma in this role. I think Sheen needs a therapist that isn’t as dark and edgy as his character/personanality. Selma almost feels equally edgy.
Selma Blair is so 1999!
Does “1999″ mean ‘super sexy?’
‘Cause she is.
Selma Blair…as a therapist? How depressing for the network.
Get Elaine in that part for god’s sake!
Elaine Hendrix has less of an bitchy edge than Selma Blair. She gets my vote.
It doesn’t matter who you cast, the writers are the worst so it will just be garbage coming out of their mouths. That said, I’m glad to hear that Selma Blair is still alive.
I think Selma Blair would b perfect for the part! She is a great actress n I would luv to see her wit Charlie! And there is nothing embarrassing about backing up a fav! I am so excited and can’t wait for Anger Management to air. ” GO CHARLIE” ~~TEAM CHARLIE~~
Why do you have to forgive Charlie? that is pretty absurd he has done nothing to you.
Selma Blair? she is a terrible actress and not at all believable as a therapist. She almost ruined an entire movie (Cruel Intentions) because of her shockingly bad acting which she showed in that moronic sitcom with Molly Shannon.
What transpired in the first 3 comments is very funny! That should be in the show. Who is Lucy?
No doubt Selma Blair will make this show unwatchable, just as she does most shows/movies she is in. Can’t understand how she gets any work. Her range consists of ‘demure’ to ‘dead’ with no way of telling one from the other. The actors that got passed over in favour of Selma must have been hobos or in a coma or something
