About 37.75 million viewers watched President Obama’s 2012 State of the Union address, which featured a farewell appearance by Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and aired live across 14 broadcast and cable networks. That was down 12% from last year’s speech, which was watched by 42.79 million people and down 21% from Obama’s first State of the Union in 2010 (48 million). Like his approval ratings, Obama’s TV ratings have been sliding since the post-inauguration high of 52.37 million viewers who tuned in for his address to the joint session of Congress in February 2009. Among the cable news networks, Fox News dominated the field with 3.8 million viewers vs. 2.8 million for MSNBC and 2.7 million for CNN.

Hard Working Non-Union Middle Class Americans realize they took a chance, voted for an image and got spanked hard in the wallet for doing so. Americans can’t get away from this election mistake fast enough therefore why would they watch a mistake on TV?
Instead of me telling you how bad your guy is , and you telling me how bad my guy is , how about we concentrate on solutions to problems we all agree exist.
I thought it was an amazing speech. He definitely has my vote. The GOP has flat-out destroyed this nation. From watching the debates, they blatantly say they are going to continue to rob, steal, and kill in order to continue the destruction… and they have convinced so many citizens to actually support them as they are robbing them! Sad.
So I was reading the comment guidelines: “So don’t go off topic, don’t impersonate anyone, don’t get your facts wrong, and don’t bore me.”
If that’s the case, why are all these Drudge readers allowed to post here making claims that the tax rate under Reagan was 20% or the “voter intimidation” non-story that Fox News created?
Just wondering…
After listening to the pundits on both the Left and Right for their take on Obama’s speech. I was able to hear a “Real” analysis by RT tv. They really broke down Obama’s bullet points and gave a world view of reality.
Reagan 1982 SOTU: “…the sacred flame of liberty.”
Obama 2012 SOTU: “We get each other’s backs.”
That’s a helluva decline in just 30 years.
had to skip over most of the comments..no really info, heck of a lot political bias..which we can get anywhere. The core problem I have with Obama..is that in all good conscience, I find it really difficult to accept him as President. For no other reason than,at every turn, he calls out Republicans..which to me, says he is President for only on side of the aisle. Never have I felt that way..This man has lowered the position of President.Seems his community organizer status, still is who he is. Sadly, he couldnt elevate himself, to be above the fray, instead he choose to be its leader.
