Card is a creep.
Card has publicly declared his disapproval of homosexuality and of marriage rights for gay men and women. In 1990, Card called for laws that ban homosexual behavior to “remain on the books… to be used when necessary to send a clear message that those who flagrantly violate society’s regulation of sexual behavior cannot be permitted to remain as acceptable, equal citizens within that society”. A devout Mormon, Card became a member of the board of directors of the National Organization for Marriage, a group that seeks to prevent the legalization of same-sex marriage.[26]
While I disagree with Card on this issue, I wouldn’t brand an old man who disagrees with same sex marriage a creep. He just agrees with the majority of Americans in their 60s who are against gay marriage. Luckily, us younger people will change that. But I get tired of people returning hate with hate. How about a little understanding and perspective? For old people, it’s a little harder to accept homosexuality and gay rights. That doesn’t make him a creep. Just human. With time and a personal relationship with gay people, he would probably change his stance. Maybe not, but I’m not willing to condemn someone for defending traditional marriage when they are in their sixties. I’d feel differently if he was in his twenties. And religion baiting is also pretty lame.
Can someone tell me what really Oscar worthy movie has been filmed in New Orleans under their tax incentive policy. The city is floating with production at this time. Crews are stretched and when they snap they quit one show to go to another. Loyalty to a production is not there. Recent film had a New York Mayor played by Russell Crowe never in the Big Apple. Tbe producers get cheaper by the dozens..and all have the vision of making a good movie on
a dime. I am waiting for the shoe to drop that the studios really have not received their cash rebates from Louisiana. Common knowledge Paramount is still waiting for money from the Curious Case of Benjamin Buttons.” The whole thing is a shame!! BETTHEDUCK
What does Card’s personal beliefs have to do with Ender’s Game? It’s one of the best sci-fi books ever, and hopefully they don’t botch the adaption.
