CBS has made it official, greenlighting hot drama project Golden Boy to pilot. The drama, written and executive produced by Nicholas Wootton and executive produced by Greg Berlanti, hails from Warner Bros. Television where Berlanti is under an overall deal. It had a put pilot commitment. It is a show about the making of a man – tracks one cop’s meteoric rise from officer to detective to Police Commissioner. This is Berlanti’s third pilot order this season, along with Arrow at the CW and Guilty at Fox.

So — they are telling us the entire arc of the series up front?
Good for Woots!
Nick is the best! This is much deserved.
Minds behind Chuck and Everwood joining forces? COUNT. ME. IN.
Nick is one of the best writers out there. Definitely a pilot to watch.
CBS can’t do complex crime drama. Look how Blue Bloods has turned out. The last decent complex crime drama on broadcast was the Chicago Code. Look how Fox execs botched that opportunity.
Because it was not sci-fi.
Can’t wait for Goldenboy…Wooten is an incredible writer! Gonna be an awesome show!!!!
