The American Society of Cinematographers have announced the feature film nominees for its 26th annual ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards. Guillaume Schiffman
The Artist
Jeff Cronenweth
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
Robert Richardson
Hugo
Hoyte van Hoytema
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
Emmanuel Lubezki
The Tree Of Life

Where’s Janusz Kaminski and WAR HORSE?
Exactly!!
who cares… janusz is great. no doubt. but these beat war horse hands down (maybe not the artist?)
I’m shocked that Janusz Kaminski and “War Horse” was not recognized. Stunning cinematography!
Kaminski is NOT an ASC member. You still CAN be nominated regardless of being a member or not, but I think this could have been a factor. Even so, the other five nominees are excellent choices.
Great work, Jeff Cronenweth!
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
I can’t believe Drive is not on here.
I’d be shocked if Richardson doesn’t win for Hugo.
Elliot Davis for “Iron Lady” — gorgeous lighting.
Shocked Janusz got snubbed. Kinda surprised Wally didn’t make the list of nominees either.
It’s going to Lubezki for Three of Life — bet the farm.
Glad War Horse was left off — cinematography should serve the story, not be the whole package.
