CMT recorded the network’s highest-rated original series telecasts ever on Saturday with the premieres of Bayou Billionaires and My Big Redneck Vacation. Bayou scored a 0.72 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic good for 724,000 viewers, and Redneck drew a 0.7 in the demo and 707,000. That bodes well for the network, which is ramping up its original productions with more series in development than ever before; CMT also recently greenlighted a pair of docu-reality series — one starring Jennie Garth and the other Melissa Rycroft. Other originals bowing this month include Season 3 of Sweet Home Alabama and the new series Swanderosa.

Sweet Home Alabama started two weeks ago, they aired their second episode last Friday. What are the ratings for that?
Good for CMT and good for Brad Johnson. I hope CMT continues to work with him as he has completely revamped what was a boring network.
All credit to Brad Johnson for Bayou Billionaires. Nicely done.
Congratulations to Jayson, Elliot, Brad and everyone at CMT. A nice, well marketed, on-brand show.
Um, some credit to Brad and the CMT execs but not ALL…a big heaping also goes to Magilla Entertainment, the prod. co. who actually delivered the goods. Coming off of TLC’s Long Island Medium and their hit Moonshiners for Discovery, Magilla is red hot right now (and a classy crew of people). Well done!
