The CW announced at TCA today that it has ordered game show Oh Sit! for midseason. The 10-episoe series, created and executive produced by Phil Gurin (The Singing Bee), Richard Joel and Deena Dill, is described as a high-stakes, high-octane musical chairs competition in which 20 daredevils race head to head through five obstacle course-style eliminations as they each compete to claim a chair — to the sounds of a live band. At the end of the hour, only one contestant will be left sitting to win a cash prize. The CW has ordered the series, from Gurin Co and 405 Prods, as part of its effort to boost its original offerings and cut the number of repeats throughout the season.

How did I not think of this one!!
Meh. Snooze.
What next? Pin the Tail on the Donkey?
I’m totally pitching that tomorrow. The show will feature an obstacle course – think Most Extreme Challenge – where the goal is to not only make it to the end of the course, but to apply a vecro tail to a donkey. We’re calling it “Ass!”.
OH PLEASE!
Is this a joke???
This is a joke right? Come on CW you are better than that
actually they’re not better than this
“Oh Sit! We’ve been cancelled!” -”Oh Sit!” EP
Actually, it’ll likely be a decent success in the demographics that CW is trying to pull in, and that is of idiots ages 2-99.
SNARK.
Riddle Me This, of course to keep it edgy they would call it “Donkey Show.”
Seriously?
Why does the CW even have a reality department? Besides “America’s Next Top Model” they have NEVER had a successful reality series – or even one to last more than it’s initial episode order. They should be focusing on their new comedy department instead.
LOL. Another H8R
LOL
I understand they want to cut down on the many repeats this network is engaged in right now and this practice has been notorious at the CW, but to offer drivel like this? And they expect to pop a rating or two as a result? H8R suffered the same fate and this show will too. I commend Pedowitz for wanting to try something new, but this is not one of those good ideas.
Ha. That is SO Phil Gurin.
Not only is it a REALLY lame idea, but given the way the credits are written above, I guarantee you he just stole his share of the “created by” credit.
405 must have brought the idea to him because they needed a bigger company to partner with. And even though they are the one who had already created it before they walked through his door, Phil forced a shared “created by” credit as part of the deal.
On a sh!tty idea.
Don’t worry 405, we’ve all been there. Many of us with Phil himself.
“It’s like Wipeout… except with chairs! And… a… live band!!”
Can’t wait to see this one fail.
Hmm jealous much? Maybe you should go back to picking your nose instead of writing on blogs.
Oh, I thought it was going to say “as part of its effort to boost its original offerings and cut the number of VIEWERS throughout the season.”
They had Pussycat Dolls Present, which had two seasons and was decently rated. Theoretically they could bring it back since they’re supposed to be finding all new girls for that group. But I agree, The CW needs to focus on their comedy department.
