EXCLUSIVE: As Dakota Fanning emerged as a top young actress in films like Man On Fire and War Of The Worlds, and Elle Fanning began doing the same in films like Super 8 and We Bought A Zoo, the girls had always been represented by Cindy Osbrink, whose Osbrink Talent Agency specializes in pint-sized talent. The Fannings have decided to take a step toward adulthood (Dakota turns 18 next month, and Elle will turn 14 in April), and they have decided to leave Osbrink. They will soon take meetings with the major agencies and decide the next move. The Fannings continue to be repped by JJ Harris’s One Talent Management.
The move comes as Dakota Fanning finishes up the Twilight Saga series with Breaking Dawn Part 2, and just wrapped the Ol Parker-directed Now Is Good and the title role in Effie, the Emma Thompson-scripted film that was directed by Richard Laxton. Both of those films were shot in London. As for Elle Fanning, she is starring in the Sally Potter-directed Bomb.

Cindy Osbrink is an awesome person and fantastic agent. I really hope this was a mutual decision between the Fannings and Cindy because Cindy put her heart and soul into representing that family. She’s a rock star and deserves the best.
This is what Cindy does. She discovers new talent, then moves onto the next one when they have matured. I am sure she will be just fine.
Cindy is a good agent, lovely person and a pleasure to deal with. I can understand these actors leaving at adulthood but they have years to go before they play adult leads. They will be lost amongst all the older competition at the Large agencies. They should have Waited a few more years.
Lost at an older agency? Do you realize who you are talking about? I highly doubt the Fannings will get lost anywhere. They don’t even need agents. Only legal reps.
I agree! BTW does Elle Fanning have Twitter and Instagram?
Hell hath no fury, like a well run career. I hate the concept of in success, people have to leave. Both these gals have had impeccable, well run careers. They should be thankful and loyal to the person that got them there.
So sorry Cindy you have done a wonderful job. sad to see this happen.
It’s their claim to fame; It’s how they reel in the next generation of newbies….wonder who’s name they’ll drop now…
These girls have not been well served. Dakota should have been kiddie up and put on disney/nick. The elle has gone adult so there is no wiggle room. They did not go for the cash, stupid. They are now only good for creepy roles.
What the hell are you talking about?
I assume you are being sarcastic, no? They both have a better chance of a long term career because they chose to not go the ‘Disney’ route (although Twilight is pretty damn close). They have become very well rounded actors who will be offered better quality roles in the future because of it. Better quality roles usually means better quality movies, which may or may not equal more money, but will equal even more quality roles in the future. I seriously doubt either of these girls cares that much about money, based on their role choices so far.
This is the WORST written post I have ever read! Did you quit school in the 3rd grade? IDIOT!
The inaugural winner of the Worst Deadline Comment… Tammy.
Tammy stick with posting comments on youtube. At least you’ll have 2 or 3 twelve year old idiots that share your ignorant opinion and give you a “thumbs up.”
Dakota’s talent as a child was remarkable so I think she would’ve been successful at any decent agency. I don’t know of Cindy Osbrink but I think she is getting too much credit in the comments above. For child stars, I give more credit to the manager and the MOST credit to the parents. GREAT JOB MR AND MRS. FANNING!
Are we reading the same post, TAMMY, or talking about the same people?
Tammy, WHAT?? You are kidding, right??
Agree with all of you! Tammy – Stick to youtube. The Fannings are a delight and they DO seem to make very good decisions. Best of luck to both of them. I’ll happily continue to watch them.
Cindy has done the most brilliant job with both of their careers. When will people understand that you can have a successful film career at a boutique agency. Why hasn’t JJ Harris protected Cindy since she sent both the girls to JJ. So Sad & didn’t have to happen.
Osbrink is an incredible children’s agency, and Cindy does a great job. Their adult department is not close to the same level, however, and they just lost their biggest gun in the commercial department as well.
Is that comment above serious or a joke?! Osbrink has an amazing Adult Department and the Commercial Dept is stronger than ever- check your facts Frank…
Couldn’t agree with the above comment more. I have talked with many actors represented by Osbrink- some friends and others from running into at auditions and I’ve only heard good things. They do a great job over there!
Is that comment serious?! Osbrink has an amazing Adult Dept and thier Commercial Department seems like it has never been stronger! Get your facts straight Frank…
Evolving as actors and their choices is part of life. They
had their reasons. Both Dakota & Elle continue to raise
the acting bar with their astonishing chararcter portrayals
(eg: Dakota in ‘ Now is Good ‘) . .
Both of you keep up with your honest, mature project selections.
