EXCLUSIVE: Rescue Me alum Daniel Sunjata is set for a starring role in USA Network’s untitled drama pilot from White Collar creator Jeff Eastin. The project, from Fox TV Studios, follows four agents from various federal and local agencies (DEA, FBI, LAPD) who live at a former ganglord’s mansion-turned-safe house for undercover agents in Southern California. Sunjata will play Paul Briggs, an atypical FBI agent with a legendary past who has traded in his suit and tie for a more zen existence. He is the senior agent in a house full of undercover agents. Sunjata, best known for his role as Franco Rivera on FX’s firefighter drama Rescue Me, also did a major arc on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy. The actor, repped by UTA, Principal and Cornerstone, co-stars in the Katherine Heigl feature comedy One For The Money, which opens next week, and will also be seen in thriller Gone and The Dark Knight Rises.

Great actor, great guy.
Good actor, nutty guy.
Tremendous talent. USA scored a coup here since its only a matter of time before this man is a major light in the Hollywood star scene. And he’s SMART AS HECK. Love an artist who is socially aware and politically informed. Good stuff!!!
Daniel is amazing for so many reasons. He’s super talented, super hot, super smart, and super super lol can’t wait!!!
LOVE HIM, so funny, cute and a great actor. I knew he was minutes away, after Rescue Me, of moving up.
Yes very good actor. Cool
Great actor! So underrated and under appreciated in that industry. I saw him in Lie To Me and thought “STAR POWER!!!” It’s nice to see him starting to get the praise he has long deserved. I can’t wait to see this show now that Daniel is on board!
