In a deal worth $1 million upfront, GK Films has acquired Little White Corvette, the Michael Diliberti script that has Emma Stone attached to star. Stone, who most recently completed The Amazing Spider-Man and who’s got some Oscar buzz for her performance in The Help, had an open slot that had several studios buzzing. Shooting on this one will begin in late summer and Scott Aversano will produce with GK’s Graham King and Tim Headington. Diliberti wrote the story with David Branson Smith. Stone and Diliberti will be exec producers.
Stone had been interested in the script since last summer. It’s a two-hander about a nerdy guy and his wild older sister who travel to Miami to try and sell a million-dollar stash of ’70s cocaine they found in the trunk of their late father’s car. It’s the third recent sale for Diliberti, who sold the pitch The Big Sayonara to Fox as a potential directing vehicle for John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, and an untitled pitch that Warner Bros bought for Todd Phillips to produce. Both Stone and Diliberti are repped by WME; Stone’s managed by Anonymous Content and Diliberti by New School Media.

Emma needs to go into hiding – overexposed to the point of nausea. Good for her agent but bad for the rest of us who need a break.
Overexposed? The public loves her. I don’t need a break.
She’s correct…. she needs to ride the freaking wave. One of the most well-read, most intelligent… and uniquely beautiful actress in years.
I have to completely disagree – She makes just enough films to stay in the public eye without ever disapearing, not to mention she has never made a *bad* film.
“…bad for the rest of us who need a break.”???
Oh please, go home or quit yer cryin’ and make my coffee.
Stone is always the bright spot in an otherwise mediocre film. I just watched Crazy, Stupid, Love last night, and I have to say, despite a script that sold for a couple million $ and had everybody crowing about it, it was lackluster and awkward; just poorly directed. With one exception: Emma Stone. She really brings it to this otherwise pedestrian ensemble. Her drunk, painfully awkward scene where she tries to seduce Ryan Gosling is the only truly memorable scene that makes this film tolerable.
It’s something she does over and over in all her films, going all the way back to The House Bunny. The first time I saw her in that movie, I thought to myself, “This girl will be a star.” The girl’s got amazing charisma, she’s just got IT, whatever it is. You can’t take your eyes off her. I don’t think she’s come anywhere near overexposure. And, with the here today, gone tomorrow whimsy of Hollywood, the girl’s striking the iron while it’s hot. Who could blame her for that?
While Goaway is a bit harsh, I agree that I am tired of Emma Stone being shoved down our throats. I suppose she needs to make her money while she can, as she will never be a big star.
This movie stood out the most to me on the Black List and Emma Stone will be perfect in it.
she is not overexposed. I haven’t seen AT ALL this summer, autumn. Really looking forward to her & Ryan Gosling (not overexposed either) promoting their new gangster film, -with Eva promoting her perfume gig, closely following!! ah-not to forget Ryan’s mum too!
That Diliberti is so hot right now.
did you see 30 Minutes or Less? he’s an awful writer… but with talented reps, writers like this can get hot off buzz instead of talent.
Actually, the original script that he and Sullivan wrote is quite good — and funny. The translation, however, leaves a lot to be desired. I feel the final product suffered from poor talent choices and editing. Fleischer should stick to zombies.
I love when the writers clearly are commenting on their own scripts. Hi, Michael. Read LITTLE WHITE CORVETTE last year — it is as lacking in humor as your original script for 30 MINUTES OR LESS.
“Sometimes fate just slaps you in the face with its cock.”
That’s not funny, it’s hackery.
Sorry. She’s fantastic in everything she does and is a brilliant choice for this role. I want to work on it!
Emma will not receive an Oscar nomination for The Help. This poor lady was easily acted off the screen by the other actresses.
I really liked her performance, but yeah, she was pretty much outdone.
Didyou even read the article, go away… It said tht filig begins in LATE SUMMER, and shed said lately that she was taking some time off…thanks for your insightful comments|||||
Love this. Sounds like it will crush.
good to see david smith getting credit for writing the script. Hes the real talent here
“and who’s got some Oscar buzz for The Help”
Really? For what? Best Actress Supporting the other 3 actresses in her movie who are really the ones who have the Oscar buzz?
So many other things could’ve filled that space in your story.
i read this script. to me it was just okay, but waaaay better than He’s F*cking perfect. So hopefully the fact that she’s doing this will kill that turd.
can we at least acknowledge the moment. babygirl is killing it in the accompanying photo.
what makes emma so likeable and keeps moviegoers like myself coming back is she’s not afraid to play her characters as women with average beauty who know their worth is on the inside. i like that she doesn’t seem bent on being a tinseled starlet like other actresses. yes she’ll play the game and sex it up here and there but that’s not where her value lies. her being is grounded… and incidentally as fly as this photo.
Emma has become one of the most talented actresses of our time. She can play any part of any movie. Thats a lot to say about a young actress! Not many can do that!!
