Fox has picked up two more pilots, both dramas that had put pilot commitments — a serial killer project from Kevin Williamson and a legal drama from Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim. Both projects are produced by Warner Bros. TV where Williamson and Berlanti are based.
The untitled Williamson project is described as an edge-of-the-seat thriller about a diabolical serial killer who uses technology to create a cult of serial killers, and the FBI agent who finds himself in the middle of it. Vampire Diaries co-creator/executive producer Williamson, whose writing debut was the 1996 serial killer/horror smash Scream that launched the movie franchise, wrote the script and is executive producing.
The Berlanti-Guggenheim project, entitled Guilty, centers on a brilliant, morally questionable defense attorney who, after being falsely convicted of fraud and stripped of his legal license, uses his unorthodox methods to solve the cases he’s been prohibited from handling and to ultimately exact revenge on the men who set him up. Guggenheim, who is a former lawyer, wrote the script and is executive producing with Berlanti. This is the third pilot order for Fox today, which also picked up Dana Fox’s comedy Ben Fox Is My Manny. All 3 were packaged by WME.

For some reason a serial killer having the upper hand always reminds me of that series Profiler.
This mush brain poster again.
Great for Guggenheim! Super nice guy.
The serial killer series premise, looks interesting.. Please not another lawyer show??
Don’t know how I feel about Kevin getting another show. I mean there was Dawson’s creek with Josh Jackson his favorite now it is The vampire diaries and Ian somerhalder is his new favorite. Just hope this isn’t Dawson’s creek part 3.
Something tells me the commercials aren’t going to say “from the writers of Green Lantern”.
It definitely will not say “From the anonymous hater spewing junk via keyboard in mothers basement”
How exactly is citing their work “spewing junk”? He made no value judgment on the movie. You aren’t implying having GREEN LANTERN on their resume is embarrassing and damaging, are you? Sounds like you are the hater here.
Exactly! Green Lantern wasn’t promoted as from the writer/producers of saccharine cheese cult tv shows, either.
LOL.
I was LOL’ing to “Not anonymous Fred,” not Sector 2814. To Sector 2814, Eli was cult, occasionally saccharine, but never cheesy. Just FYI.
Honest question, are you embarrassed by Green Lantern to such an extent that anybody who brings it up is “spewing hatred”? Has everyone been banned from mentioning it in your presence? Is IMDB conducting a hate campaign against you by listing Green Lantern in your credits?
I love the idea of the serial killer show it’s something fresh and smart. This day and age with Facebook an twitter would make a easy way to develop a story for a FBI agent to solve the murders.. I love Scream and Vampire Diaries and yes even the new secret Cirlce show I watch.. Kevin you have a great outlook on story telling just Remeber to add a Casey in at least of of your shows:)
Another serial killer? Hello DEXTER? WHAT is FOX’s problem? FRINGE is amazing, Kevin should be pumping his wits to keep that stellar show going or write a come back for LIE TO ME! FOX decks up every Danny good show by shoving it in the wrong time slots. I hope Mr. Williamson doesn’t disappoint the viewers. The SCREAM sequalS became passe after the 1st film. Everything else was pumped out like a meat grinder. Luckily his TV writing and collaborations have been good for everyone. I just don’t know about ANOTHER cop/FBI serial killer show. I frankly don’t see the value in promoting such a horrid idea to become greenlighted. There’s enough REAL death without having to write insipid fiction loosely based on reality. It really is just in bad taste & honestly I don’t see this future show in the line up for long based upon FOX’s past. You know a show like this will be upsetting to REAL victims of families who are actually still coping with their losses.
I trust Kevin W’s taste. I like the concept. I just hope the serial killers are sexy. Nothing sells more than SEX
Awesome news! Love Marc! Hope the show’s a smash hit. Sounds like it will be.
Is it just me, or is Kevin Williamson now looking disturbingly like William Sadler?
That “FBI agent vs serial killer cult” series sounds sweet. And if it has the fast pace and decent characterization of Vampire Diaries, this might be one show that might withstand Fox’s hasty ax.
LOVE the Vampire Diaries. Love it.
