Julianne Moore is perfectly cast! My instincts tell me I am going to love this movie!
This is almost uncanny. Absolutely fantastic casting.
Did Moore even ATTEMPT to do Palin’s weird, annoying accent? Perhaps she failed spectacularly, and everybody said “Screw it, just speak naturally.”
Your opinion makes no sense unless you actually didn’t hear the soundtrack. Try watching it again without the sound muted.
I had to live through it once. I don’t think I can stomach it again. I’m sure many of the performances will be astonishing. But especially she’s still out there and spouting her nonsense and hate, I can’t subject myself to re-experiencing what she and McCain put this nation through, and who and how they blamed everyone but themselves and their ideology.
What did she and McCain put this nation through? Stick to comedy; your rhetoric is weak.
You are SO right comedy maven, they put he nation through HELL. Double digit un-employemnt, an additional 5.6 trillion dollars in debt, gas prices over 4 dollars, walking guns into Mexico that end up murdering U.S. citizens, suing the citizens of this country for enforcing immigration laws, suspension of habeas corpus…oh, WAIT!
Meh. McCain and Palin were both undisciplined crazy people and they had the lousy staff work they both deserved.
Now, Clinton versus Obama, THAT was the consequential story to adapt. A fierce, tribal “Godfather” like conflict between two expert political crews…
The winner of that fight would clearly become the President of the United States, either the first woman or the first African American.
But as usual, HBO pulled up lame and chose the inconsequential crazy people who everyone knew would collapse…
Just another dull and unimportant made-for-cable drama.
Funny thing, Wrong Story, Obama/Clinton was what the book “Game Change” was originally about. McCain/Palin didn’t even come into it until 3/4 of the way through.
That said, the Palin story is no end of entertainment. Since Palin herself never seems to go away, short-attention span America must be reminded of what she’s all about.
Plus anything that pisses conservatives off is cool with me.
Looking forward to this.
Wow, Moore nailed it every way. Astounding. Can’t wait to see this.
I have a sick feeling this won’t be very good.
Julianne Moore was horribly miscast in the role. She doesn’t even appear to be making an effort in the scenes featured in the trailer.
Julianne looks just like her. The accent isn’t right though, it sounds the same as her annoying “New Jersey” accent during her stint on 30 Rock.
That’s funny, considering that Julianne was trying to do a Boston accent. BTW, I’d rather see an actual puppet do the part than Julianne. Looks like the nuance in her performance ended with her lipstick.
Normally I really enjoy Julianne Moore’s performances but she’s atrocious in this and has all the nuance and subtlety of a black face routine.
This is going to be about as successful as “Fair Game.” HBO gambled that Palin would be running at this time and that this film will be must see television. Fail. HBO stick to the good stuff and entertain us.
Regardless of if she’s running or not, this looks like it’s going to be a good film. Sure, more people would’ve watched this had Palin run this year, but plenty of people will still watch it. I’m in!
HBO movies are now just dramatizations of SNL sketches.
Would have been worth watching if they adapted the entire book. Which included Obama/Hillary/Edwards fights
You are all wrong. It will be entertaining especially in light of all the Republican party being at each other’s throats this year. Moore will get an Emmy and Golden Globe nom among whatever else. HBO knows how to entertain.
Spoiler: Hollywood mocks conservatives. Yawn.
Conservatives give Hollywood–and decent Americans–so much material, though.
This is a good trailer. I had as close to zero interest in this as you can get, but this trailer makes me care about Palin, McCain and this movie.
I hope it isn’t a let-down, because now I give a crap.
I think the appearance is fairly uncanny. The voice though…mmm.
