HBO Documentary Films has acquired U.S. broadcast rights to Me @ The Zoo, which will appear in the U.S. Documentary competition at this month’s Sundance Film Festival. The feature doc, directed by first-time helmers Chris Moukarbel and Valerie Veatch, explores Internet celebrity and focuses on video blogger Chris Crocker, whose “Leave Britney Alone” post on YouTube made him a Web star. Submarine’s Josh Braun negotiated the deal with HBO; Memento Films International is handling international rights.

Amazing anyone would make a documentary about this talentless asshole. Even worse that HBO would buy it. Not surprised that Sundance is showing it, though.
A documentary about Chris Crocker? At the zoo?!
Either documentarians are out of ideas or this is a pity-doc about the now irrelvant Crocker’s new day job scooping lion shit.
Seriously this guy was forgotten about years ago. He’s not a symbol of Gay Pride or anything resembling a gay icon. He’s just another twenty-nothing with no job, no talent, and a lot of time on his hands.
The fact that he’s moving into porno should’ve been some clue?
Love people posting hateful comments about a film they haven’t seen and know nothing about.
