EXCLUSIVE: Indomina is closing a world rights deal for Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap, the Ice-T and Andy Baybutt-directed documentary about the art of hip-hop. I’m told Indomina is planning a meaningful theatrical release in the early summer. UTA and Myman Greenspan are brokering the deal. In the film, Ice-T travels coast to coast, visiting with the likes of Afrika Bambaata, Grandmaster Flash, Nas, Mos Def, Eminem, Chuck D, Run-DMC, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube and Snoop Dogg to trace the inspiration for an American art form.

Indomina is still in business? Wow!
Read the trades, son….They released Detective Dee & the Mystery of the Phantom Flame…..#3 in Time Magazine’s Best of 2011.
It’s actually Grandmaster Caz.
By far the smartest acquisition of the festival. Who wants to see a bunch of whiney dramas when they can watch Iced-T kickin’ it old skool…its going to clean up at the BO.
Movie isn’t even a film – just a series of talking heads over and over. By the 20th acapella freestyle I was ready to stab myself in the face, and I’m a huge rap fan. Hopefully Indomina lasts long enough to get the film out.
I find this sad…since when did Ice-Tea ever have talent?…So desperate he does a reality show?…so he can keep his marriage together? Please…Sundance has become a joke.
It was about time somebody exposed the history of RAP …..stroke Electro/Hip Hop……i was Breakdancing in the old days and grew up on this ! SO,…….YEAH ……this is gonna be great that ICE T gets a chance to visit old friends that are not in Jail or dead and re live why all these R & B stars are milking the industry. True talent is rare and this is a guide to who really did have it and Andy Baybutt has done fine job !!!! YEAH BWOY !!!!!! x
