Another man-boy story… great!
It’s Sarandon. She’s rather well known.
Looks great! Both Helms and Segel have some chops in this.
Holy sh@t. Have we not seen this move a bazillion times already?????
And I wish this kid would just retire from acting. Really.
He stinx.
Ya, why should he get all the roles and money he does when you can’t get a callback for a hemroid commercial.
Segel isn’t the greatest actor, but in this day and age, who the hell is? Worthington starred in the highest grossing film of all time, and he’s horrible (He can’t even do an accent) but what does it matter?
I’ve heard of a story that says Judd Apatow told a before famous Segel that he had nothing going for him; he wasn’t a very good actor and he had a terrible look for film. He said his only hope was that if he went out and made his own material with him playing the lead.
He did that.
And it worked.
So good on him.
At least he’s still not sitting around, angry at the world and his agent for not getting him auditions.
This is a pretty great trailer. There’s a lot of great looking indie movies coming out this year. Have you guys seen the trailer for “Ignoring the World” yet? A 15 year old kid wrote and directed it, as well as starred, and it’s pretty damn impressive. Not as good as this, but still good.
“Wish You Were Here” looks great too.
A trailer should never be this long… Won’t say anything about the film because I haven’t seen it, nor did I finish the trailer (it’s fucking long). I don’t find Jason Segel annoying the way I do Ashton Kutcher, but he really needs to start acting. He’s talked through far too many films.
Saw this at AFI a few months ago and really enjoyed it. If you look past the simple idea of a pothead living on his mom’s couch, I think you’ll see a solid, well executed story that’s worth your time.
The teaser trailer for that movie looked like a parody SNL would do. Just because you have a good DSLR camera doesn’t make you a film maker.
I
I don’t think this was shot on DSLR…
Melodramatic comedy is tough. Very tough…
Better title: “Jason, who should have stayed at home (instead of making this movie).” Needs a muppet. Or Linda Cardellini.
This movie looks like an episode of a bad Showtime show. A bad episode.
I love the look of this. It looks like it has the typical funny fodder that Helms and Segel bring, but with more heart and substance than we usually get to see. I’ll see it, for sure.
I think you guys are missing the mark here. This doesn’t look like your standard man-child movie. This looks like it starts out with a fucked up guy who is trying to find himself, his place in the world, and rekindle positive relationships in his family. This isn’t Stepbrothers.
But I do agree with Harry M, melodramatic comedy is a tough sell.
“Hot” in what sense?
